hi archie,

i have a cycle of 28 days till july. then i started taking folic acid from july.my period on july was at \";7th\";.from july we started doing intercourse without any birthcontrol for the first time.

then from august my periods came on 10th, in september it came on 13th. i thoug my cycle changed into 33 days. this time i hav not got my periods yet, i went to the doctor and took blood test, it came negative. doctor told me everything is fine but i am not pregnant yet.

i just want to know why is the cycle changed irregular for these three months after we started ttc. is there any reason for this? i need ur advice. am i having any prob ? plz answer me...

thanks $ rgds

Krsna told what I had to.
don't worry for you not getting period. It may have also been anovulatory cycle. You will wait for a month (28 days) more to get worried.

when you begin ttc things can go upside doen with reference to cycle lenght and it's normal.

I would not worry too much today.

you could repeat test if you have any symptoms in next week not anytime soon though.

hi samitha.

ur post is addressed to archie; nevertheless, i thot i'll reply bcos i went thru' a similar experience.

we started ttc in jun & i started taking folic acid tablets. the next 3 months (jun, jul & aug) my cycles extended to 34, 35 & 33 days respectively. i usually have a regular cycle of 28,29 days. i was alarmed too (tho' at hindsight, it all appears undue & unnecessary). got a checkup done and all was normal.

archie, curious and some others from this site suggested that this cud be bcos of the following:

1. excitement / stress realted to ttc can cause extension of cycle period

2. normally the avg cycle period (for an avg healthy woman) is betwen 21 & 36 days; so this is within the normal range

3. do not think abt ttc all the time; take it cool & relax. putting tension might have adverse effects on the ovulatory cycle.

last month (i.e. in oct) i avoided all this.. and lo and behold! i got my periods in 28 days time.

i am still ttc; but am trying to take it cool.

dont know if the above might apply in ur case. just thot of letting u know that i went thru a similar situation.

good luck & god bless

krsna
