Dear Archie,
After reading the posts here,i feel you are the one giving clear advice to everyone,so like everyone i also need your help.I am 24&have been married for the past 2 yrs....have been wanting to concieve for past 6 months....like few posts i read here,i also have pain during penetration&my hubby not able to get inside me....i feel thats a major reason for our failure all these months....someone suggested using Xylocaine first few times.is it safe?will it affect conception?coz i wanna try that.apart from this i dont have any probs.....i have never missed periods,my cycles are very regular(27/28/29)i started using opk&it showed ovulation on CD14.Do i need to visit a doc for complete check up?am planning to do so this month....your advice would be very valuable....pls help.
Thanks.

Dear Vidhya,

It's not problem if you fail to conceive in first six cycles.
What is yours and your spouse's age?

I think it may be that your spouse is not able to penetrate due to not breakin hymen or indeed there is no problem.

Honestly, full penetration is not needed for this part and what's needed is sperms to enter at right place, which is more likely when better penetration.

YOu should use gel to help ease pain and practice intercourse to get used to until you find that now without using gels your spouse is able to penetrate successfully. While using gels (KY jelly) you should not ttc and wait for the periods to initiate new cycle. Meanwhile increase intercourse frequency now without KY jelly and see that after period when you try to conceive on CD11 to CD15 you don't use jelly and have experienced easy penetration.

Good luck
Archie

Hi Archoe and Vidya,
When penetration is still not set in properly Xylocaine is a better choice. KY Jelly helps when u have had successful panless intercourse initially but are notlubricated enough. For the initial pain to go away use Xylocaine 4-5 times and later on use KY Jelly. U will find it much simpleer. Aplly Xyl 5 mins before intercourse ( or follow the drection on the package). It numbs the area and u wont feel any pain.
Archie, i was advised this by a doc when initailly penetration would stop because of extreme pain on my side. This really helped me. I dont even use KY Jelly now.

Dear Archie,
thanks for your prompt reply.I am 24&my husband is 30.I dont think hymen exists, coz when i had gone for annual check up,i had an internal exam done.I feel my vaginal passage is narrow&hence the difficulty in penetration. Is xylocaine safe to use for few times?i have used KY jelly before, but that does not ease the situation much.
