I wanted to share a scary incident which happened yesterday! DH was walking near a doorway while holding Diya and her elbow brushed against it. She started crying real bad and I was wondering why would she cry for such a thing and she usually never cries much for such things. And DH checked for a fracture in the shoulder and hands and elbow. Every time, he moved the elbow she was crying and we thought that it will get better and she'll forget after a nap. She refused to go to sleep and I was holding her with tears rolling down my eyes. DH felt very bad that it happened because of him and she wanted to suck her thumb very badly, but she couldn't move her hands. Finally after 2 hrs, we took her to our ped friend and she asked us to go the ER for an X-ray because she was not sure if it was nursemaid's elbow pain or a fracture. When the X-ray came negative I didn't know what to do only and the ER doc tried to fold her hands and did something when we heard a pop sound. The partial dislocation of her elbow(nursemaid's elbow) was treated thankfully. She started moving her arms again and I realized how much we take for granted of the little things in life like their hand and leg movements! I was just hugging her the whole evening! The doc told us that this could happen again and just asked us to be careful while lifting her(to lift her under the shoulders and not with her hands) She'll grow out of it by 4 years and it is a very common thing among toddlers between 1 and 4 years. I feel so emotional while even typing it. So, please forgive the typos or grammar!

That must have surely been a nightmare! But I am glad its over now. This is one thing I have also always been scared of yaar..Puneet's dad is an orthopedic surgeon so he says he has seen a lot of such cases in small kids so he always tells me to be careful..but like you said we take things for granted always..
Please take care of yrself and Diya..Diya will be absolutely fine and amy remaining pain will go away in max a week..

I was hoping some happy news when I saw the subject line..

I can understand how sad it is to see our little undergoing pain and all we can do is just watching. Thank god it is over and they could treat it fast. Poor Diya would have undergone real bad pain. Lets pray that it will never happen again. How is she otherwise? Has she started making little steps?
