Are you all planning to buy walkers for the kids? Rishi is standing up holding on to me, sofa, chair and all that now but he has not started to walk. He is not crawling too, just swimming in the floor. I think he will never crawl, from swimming, he will just move on to walking I think... everybody who see him say the same thing.

Are walkers good, and if they are, when to buy one???

Walkers are not recommended here in US because it develops the wrong muscles I believe. It is dangerous if you have stairs because babies can't see what is in front of them. We don't have stairs and I have seen a lot of friend's babies walking properly even after using walkers. So, I am planning to buy it for Diya most likely. She'll start reaching for things on the table etc.,:)
About weaning, I am planning to do it at 1 year when she'll start drinking cow's milk. If my supply dries up, I might give up earlier. Even if she is not giving it up entirely, I don't mind feeding her first thig in the morning or something and transition her to cow's milk and solids for the rest of the day.

We bought one for Nihu and she is zooming with it all over the place, has so much fun walking in it, but we use it only like 10 min in the morning and 10 min in the evening specially when her 6 year old cousin is around so that they can play together, she gets hyperactive when she is in the walker, and it is fun watching her chasing all the people in the house.
