Hi Vani,
I read ur earlier post about Rishi's mottai...must say he looks really cute and adorable, his smile is so mischievous!
Regarding Rishi's weight gain - he is now around 8 months, right....his weight shud be in the range of 6.0-8.3 kg. So I guess he's doing good at around 6.5. But I can understand what you must be going thru not being able to feed him formula and regular solids. My son also had a weight gain problem, and I followed this schedule, and touchwood! he's far better now.
6:00 AM: 6oz formula
9:30 - 10:00 AM: Ragi and oats powder pudding (home-made) - quantity equivalent to 5-6 spoons cerelac / 1 idli soaked in milk
1:00 - 1:30 PM: Dal, rice, ghee, and 2 vegetables - - quantity equivalent to 5-6 spoons cerelac
3:30 PM: 6 oz formula
5:30 PM: Cerelac Stage 2 cereal 5 spoons / Fruits
7:30 - 8:00 PM: Cerelac Stage 2 cereal 5-6 spoons
10:30 - 11:00 PM: 6oz formula
The key here is to introduce as much solids (semi-solids) as possible, and foods that are rich in fats. At this stage fatty foods do not affect them much, and they really need it for their development.
I know it's not easy at first, but keep trying and you will eventually succeed. Each baby has his/her own likes and dislikes, we only have to identify them by trial and error and strike a balance with the quantity. Also, do remember to slowly ramp up the quantity once you start.
Hope this helps.
Love to Rishi,
hj.
