Unexplained Infertility:Please help

My husband and I have been trying to have a baby. We have been trying for 7 months now. However, by me having irregular periods, I have to take birth control pills to make them regular. What are my chances of having a baby this way?

Hi Latisha

I am an infertility patient myself. So I would like to suggest you something:

1. Visit an infertility specialist.
2. Get semen analysis for you husband done
3. Do an hysterosalpingography(HSG) done to check you fallopian tubes - if they are open or no
4. Check your hormones - TSH,LH,Prolactin,Estradiol.

Once you go to a specialist he will tell you all this. But do go to a very good specialist. Since with aga your reprductive capcity decreases so go for treatments early.

Best luck

Hi LaTisha,
Birth control pills won't ever get you pregnant. I suggest you get an ovulation study done to find when exactly you ovulate. Once that is known you can go ahead from there. I suggest you stop taking the pills if you want to conceive.

IVF via Donor Sperm
Hi, we are planning for ivf via donor sperm as we have genetic history wherein my daughter is ASD and mine own brother is ADHD hence genetic counselor said there is risk of 15-20 percent of child being autistic if we use our own gamet. If male child is born the risk is higher than a girl child.

Hence we thought to go for donor sperm. But there is still risk... - SS [View Message]
