Name: mom to be

Hi,

I am a first time mom staying in US. No body is coming from India for me to help with the baby. I would like to know can I put a new born baby in swing? How much useful it is? Can I put my sleeping baby in swing while I am working in the kitchen near me because I will be alome in the day time? Is there inything else like swing where I can put my baby into sleep in day time and it can be carried from room to room? Please answer me.

Thanking you all,
Mom to be

Did you check baby carriers? Ask your pediatrician if it is safe for newborns. It is easier to use if u want mobility. Check it out.

If you are interested you can buy it online from babyage.
http://www(.)babyage(.)com/

It is on sale at $69.99. And there is no shipping cost right now.Enter the coupon code for this which is given at the top of the page for free shipping. Use standard delivery - it takes abt. 5 days to arrive. From outside like: burlington etc. you will get it for $108(tax included).

Before deciding on it chcek it out in stores like burlington etc for this particular model.

Hi,
Got a suggestion for you but not many of us Indians would like this idea.mainly coz i'm talking about trying a childrens consignment store to get things like a bassinet or bouncer second hand and for a lot less. And often you find these places carry excellent quality stuff. So thats an option for a cheaper bassinet.Make sure u wash everything from these places in hot water and rinse a few extra times as well. The bassinet itself u could clean with a damp rag and maybe some disinfecting wipes like lysol. But if u do so air it out well in advance so when its time for ur baby to use it ,its clean but not smelling of any chemicals.
Hope this suggestions helps.

You can also use Pack n play system from Graco etc. It has a built in bassinet on top, playpen on the bottom(to be used later) and comes with changing station, mobile, musical system etc. It can be put close to the kitchen. Pack n play bassinet is usually used till baby is 15 lbs.
