Hello Sweety,

I had been to Mothercare in Indiranagar (12th Main Road, Icon Mall). This shop is very expensive. Its just Pounds converted to Rupees !!! I found Lifestyle much more reasonable. You can pick up some pretty ones from there.

Apart from this you would need the following...
1) Cloth Diapers - Get the ones with a holder for the nappy pad. The first 10 days our lil one will pass greenish-black stools and it would be better if we use nappy pads in cloth diapers and discard them away. Its more hygenic and non messy.
2) Daily wear thin cotton dresses.
3) Nice soft towels to wrap the baby in.
4) Nappy Liners Nappy Pads
5) Soap, Powder etc.

These can be found in Commercial Street (Take the small lane near Alice jewelleryTamanna that connects to Comm. Street. There are a few shops there.)

You would need to buy some good maternity outfits for yourself, nursing pads, nipple cream and stretch marks soothing cream (You can pick these up from Mothercare).

These are basic stuff... The list is endless. Please add any more stuff that I have left !!!

Regards,
Anitha

Hi Anitha,
Thanks for the information, its really useful. What is the difference between Nappy liners and Nappy Pads, please pardon my ignorance if this looks to obvious an answer.
My list included following additional things.
- Baby blanket
- Baby nail clipper or mittens
- Baby wet wipes

Again I checked Mothercare in Shopper´ s stop at Bannerghata Road and found it to be too expensive, was thinking of going to some other baby shop to check out clothes for myself.

Regards,
Sweety

Hi Sweety,

I had been to the Just Born baby shop in Miller Road. Its very near to Cunningham road. Got some beautiful quilts, frocks etc for my neice.
Other than that, The Baby Shop in Ulsoor road is pretty famous. Also, you can check out the Mothercare showroom in Indiranagar ( I dont know the correct adress). Mothercare also has a branch in Shoppers Stop - Bannerghatta road.
These are all high end shops. For daily use, there are many baby shops near 4th Block Jayanagar.
