I had the doc's appointment today, just came back from there. i have completed 37 weeks today, but she didn't do my internal checkup. Last time she did GBS, which is negative.
I have read that from 36th week onwards, they do internal checkup every week. Please tell me if I am wrong, or if you r getting internal checkup done every week. I think she didn't do it because she felt the baby's head not so down externally.

I have done internal checkup from 36th week, of that 36th week was checked since doc anyway was checking for the Group B test..since i was dilated 1cm, the next check i did ask for internal check to see if any progress made when the nurse asked i needed a checkup.
38th week no asking, they said they would do, said was 50% effaced and still 1cm dilated, had membranes stripped (doc runs his finder around the aminiotic bag to strip membranes its attached to , a very mild form of induction, could be becoz i was +ve for gest. diabetes, he explained the procedure, didn't pain at all and if it helps to deliver earlier and is no harm great.) to avoid overdue of delivery date..
REquest ur doctor if u feel u need confirmation, generally they oblige. KEep asking ques. if u need more info, generally as they check they keep talking more to calm u down and give info..hope that helps

Hope you are doing fine.I am having my internal check up this monday.I will be 38 weeks 4 days on this coming monday.When i was 36 weeks i asked my doctor when she will do an internal check up.My doctor said that she will do the internal check up only after 38 weeks.So i think your doctor too will do an internal check up during your 38th week or after that.Don't worry.Every thing will be fine.If you have doubt call her and ask her when she will do one.Each doctor have their own schedule.so don't worry.Take care and have a nice weekend.
