weight makes big impact on ivf. I was rejected ivf at a hospital for being overweight. Ideal weight for ivf would be below BMI 28. But my doctor has asked to bring it up to atleast 30BMI. I weigh 83kg and my target is 70kg before i go in for IVF-ICSI in june. I m medicated with sibutrim for 2 months to weight reduction before ivf.
You may go in for icsi than ivf as the success is bit higher than ivf. But if you are overweight consider to go down before to go in for ivf. The sucess rate is 4% less for overweight and the egg collection would be very difficult for the doctor.The weight in the belly matters a lot. Their are more chances for miscarriage in overweight women. Places life UK reject IVF for overweight above 30 BMI as the sucess is less and the medication does not work well.
As i m going through this for nearly 5 years, i have done soo much of investigations about this and these are the results optained. Some say it does not affect ivf but when we are investing soo much on it we go in for ivf to our best.
If your BMI is fine then its good.
