Due Date Club July 2005:To Gauri - On child care

Hi Gauri,
I can understand your situation as I have kind of gone thru it. I am going to start my son in an in home day care starting this June when he'll be 11 months old. So far he was cared by family members and a nanny in between(for a month only) when I joined my work. We are going to give this inhome day care a try as this way we would know how he reacts to a small gp of kids and thereby will be exposed to less germs. We have been taking him to public places like kids parks, musuems, zoo etc and he did fine rather he enjoyed a lot looking and playing with kids so we decided to send him out rather than keeping him at home. If he doesn't do well or gets sick often then we'll look for a nanny or I'll quit working (possibility of later is more).
Anyways choosing a right care for your child could be cumbersome and is dependent on lots of factors, your child's personality, your financial situation and your confidence level. Ultimately no decision is a wrong decision - its all relative.
Here is a link I came across which helped me immesely :
zerotothree. org/ match_care.html (remove the spaces in between)
Again the daycare I will be sending Arjun to is not the so called best but its something I liked the most for him:)- All the best to you.

Take care

Amita
I wasnt going to reply to any of you nasty comments but i have to to this one. Amita seems like all you have been doing is attacking me and proving how bad i am to others. If you are fgoing to write something bad about me then i dont care but to do it over and over again then yes i will have to defend myself....so far i have not commented anything bad about you. So please leave it alone now. Another thing..you have never posted here b4 and now you are mentioning to ppl i am shallow etc etc..WHY! Noone here is nasty to one another we have had a good relation here with everyone for a long long time . This is a board for babies and baby related concerns not for childish acts.

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
