i have got th darkest elbows,knees nd knuckles nyone wud hav seen...plz help Jo Prabhu replied. Hi Reecha,

I apologize for the late reply. I do not know the exact color of your real skin but you should check the insides of your wrist or the inside of your thigh for your true skin color.
The exposed areas such as the outer arms usually are darker than the rest of your body but the effect of peels are mild or drastic depending on the strength of the product used by the dermatologist.
The new skin growth is 3-4 shades lighter and the procedure will need to be repeated at least twice and my suggestion is to wait at least 6 months to a year for the second peel.

I am a Cosmetologist licensed in California since 1982.
Skin around the areas you mention are subject to overuse and exposure therefore the skin tends to discolor and harden. Lemon, yogurt and other home remedies including honey mixtures may tend to work temporarily, however, the skin on those and other areas of your body is as old as you are and CANNOT be repaired.
What you really need is a light or heavy skin 'peel'. Products containing glycolic acid when applied as directed, will slough the skin off on a regular basis and will allow the constant growth of new skin.
However, you may want to seek the advice of a licensed Dermatologist to see it there are other causes for the discoloration.
A laser peel is a more expensive but very satisfactory solution. This allows a brand new skin to develop which includes the activation of the collagen during the growth allowing it to plump up and minimize the wrinkling. Again, a licensed experienced plastic surgeon is the only one you should allow to perform this procedure on your skin.

apply rice flour, groundnut oil, lemon, turmeric & milk cream paste on for black elbow, knees and knuckles. also rub the skin of lemon around the darkened areas for 3 minutes on each area, let it stay for a few minutes and then rinse off. avoid sitting on the floor with folded legs. they tend to become dark easily. dont lean ove the table or parapet wall with your elbows resting on them. they become dark as well.
