Due Date Club October 2001:Okay girls, here I am finally

Name: Padmaja
Its been a while since I checked your messages or posted here. I was \";busy being lazy\"; !! I went for my weekly appointment yesterday and my OBGYN said I am doing good they took cervical culture test to see for any infections in the birth canal, I will know the results in couple of days.
That is about me.
I saw nivea's list for new borns its pretty neat. How are you all doing? Jyotsna, I am sure you are doing all that you can to relieve yourself of hip pain but there is this small remedy which my doc suggested, hold a door or something with both hands and swing your hips. Its called as tail wagging. I am doing it oflate. How are you doing other wise? How is ananya?
How are you sakhi and Mekha? Hope your pregnancies are coming along fine. Mekha, how did you celebrate your birthday? Hope it was fun.
Other wise everything is okay with me, not able to sleep much though. I also noticed decrease in movements and my doc said its common as you go close to your due date. Well, looks like we are all there, can't believe its Sep already. Another month to go girls. I am done with my birthing classes, please don't ask me how much I picked up there since apart from some breathing and massage techniques, I am not sure what I did there. Ooh yeah, I know I saw child birth videos !
So long girls, take care of yourselves and your precious babies.

Mekha replied. Padmaja, nice to hear from you. Hope you are doing good.
Girls only some weeks left for the 'BIG' day but i still feel like long way to go. I am getting exhausted, upper back pain, leg cramps etc as its coming near.
Have you all started to do the baby shopping yet? We bought the travel system (GRACO), bathtub, baby monitor etc this week. Nowadays its difficult to hangout or do shopping more than one hour. I am always in haste to get back home.
My parents have gone to the consulate yesterday. I am impatiently waiting for the result.
Take care girls!
Nivea replied. How are u doing padmaja, welcome back..nice to see u ...Guess u needed that break !
The cervical culture test u mentioned seems interesting. frankly I've never heard of it yet...Is it an optional test??Dont worry a lot about the movements..Its natural to decrease now..But just maintain the count !
And yes of cos the all important sleep gets elusive...just when we begin to realise how much we need it !
But what I suggest girls is ,,to get as much rest and sleep as possible...because once the baby comes...u just wont know what hit you...basically we have to be mentally prepared for those sleepless nights for the first couple of months....I'm sure Jyotsna will agree with me...
How are u doing otherwise Jyotsna...Hope u r getting used to the maid/helper being around now.And guess what..My hubby dearest is going for a 2 week business trip to Germany and its giving me the creeps already !! In fact...I dont know if its the hormones doing their part,,but i suddenly started sobbing while packing his bags yesterday !! Oh--To be Pregnant !!
Sakhi,Isn't it marvellous that our babies our in exactly opposite positions..Its amazing. As u said...I too expereince this kind of pressure of the baby pushing down...Have u started walking yet ?
My doc advised walking for an hour girls ..everyday ..to prepare our bodies for labour. Jyotsna,,,I empathise with ur worries about birth...But I guess at this stage, all we can do is to relax and just be prepared ...because no matter what , the joy the baby will bring at the end of it all is worth every moment of that agony and pain !!
Take care all of you

jyotsna replied. hi girls,
Sakhi,i am also in my 33 rd week plus like you..
I will see my gynaec next week and then on i have to see her every week till i deliver. She keeps telling me not to be in a hurry since i am trying for a normal deliv instead of a surgery.
I am feeling the baby so low that i keep thinking the baby will pop out soon.
My weight this time hasnt been much--6 .5 kilos so far and a nice big terribly pregnant tummy. My daughter gets scared when she sees me walking around or bending ..she is convinced ill topple over if i do that.
Mekha,Nivea how are you both?Whats news on the baby front and otherwise??
Padmaja, good to chat with you last nite.take care
sakhi replied. Hi All,
Padmaja, Good to read your msg after a long time. Did you start with ur weekly appointments? U must be now 37 week. hhmmm now anytime anything can happen.
Nivea, u know what, ur baby's position is exactly vertical mirror image of mine. And me too expecting on 19th ... I think Jyotsna is also expecting during this time. Funny, isn't it?
I went for my regular checkup today and Dr said that baby is head down but not very descending. She has called me again after a week for check. I am in my 33+ week and put on total 12 kg. Many times I feel so much movements that I think my baby will come anytime now. Specially when she/he pushes down, its really hard. I am very tired and becoming very impatient.
hhmmm ... I started to do shopping, and only concentrate on those things which are neccessary, just going according to Nivea's list.
Take care girls and keep in touch.

jyotsna replied. hiiii padmaja,
i actually thot u had delivered(Oops). This is the best time for u to be lazy actually.
My hip pain has reduced a lot fortunately but have made note of what u said.
Ive been active as hell as my husband is traveling a lot.Ananya's term brk is over and i miss her a lot already..such a livewire and such a help she is.I am not expecting my mom/dad until much later in october.
My gynaec visit is for next week and that will be the 34th week.Am apprhensive as well as anxious..and the funniest part is i have no worries about bringing up the 2nd baby. All the worries are focused on the birth...
Hows your appetite these days Girls?Mine has taken a real downslide..i eat for the sake of eating out of fear of heartburn.
take care

It's a GIRL !!!!!!
Hi all,
I delivered a beautiful baby girl on 23rd November
at around 2 a.m. She weighed at 8lb 13oz & is 21\"; tall. It was a normal delivery, the mom & the baby are doing fine. We named her \";Shreya\";.
My mom and myself decided to put our creative skills and mind to work (optimum use of my maternity leave!) and have come up with these beautiful Quilts-cum-Comforters for Babies and Kids as well as for Adults. I am just spreading the good word around – some kind-av-marketing, you can say! I urge you to check out this stuff on ‘www.indiapare... - Irene Kurdikar [View Message]
our prayers are with you
Dear Jyotsna,
