Hey..all your ideas are really cool :-) I'm sure its going to be real fun !
But we have planned something different for Atul's birthday. My parents or in-laws are not interested in throwing a party and so is my dear hubby. We had a big celebration for his naming cermemony and invited almost all our friends and relatives. So we didn't want to do it again so soon. I have shortlisted some orphangaes and old age homes where I plan to sponser a days meal and clothes for the children. That will anyway cost me a lot but will be fullfilling for our parents. We'll have a lunch get-together at home with only family members.
My family had a testing time with a 1.4 kgs baby , followed by my gall-stone surgery within 7 weeks and all that. Just want to thank God for taking us successfully thro all those tough times.
Sorry if this was boring stuff to you folks :-)

Hi Kavitha,

Its not at all boring stuff. Our board is to share views without much botheration. I liked both of Idea Priya as well as yours.

I think yr parents and hubby are right when thinking to get some blessings and share some happiness with those who are not fortunate like us.

I will say go ahead with plan and spread the happiness. Infact for my son Munday which is schedule on coming Monday, I am going to incur good amount of money just going to Tirupati and have hair cut. From bottom of my heart I want to donate the same money to orphange but relatives will not like the idea and anyway it will be 1st function for my son, so I am going as per everyone wish. Hope soon on his bday will be able to do something different.

With love,
Sudha

I would say no no to boat rentals Priya if most of the families are going to be in Indian - instead take them for a cruise if cruises are offered where you live and host a party there - serve food etc. It will be less expensive, easy to track people, everyone can have fun and could become an indoor party if weather turns bad.

Hey, you gave me a really cool idea. May be I'll throw a birthday on cruise for Arjun:)

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

I used the puzzles, the wooden blocks for alphabets and numbers.... - Sheetal [View Message]
try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
