Whenever my son2yrs. goes to sleep at night after all his activities during the day time he keeps dreaming of such things ,babbles something in his sleep and gets up/starts crying. All of a sudden in the dead of night he asks us to allow him see the cartoon network etc..etc..Its really difficult to make him sleep again. This is becoming a daily activity and I am dead tired of it.Please suggest something.

you should make it a practice to never ever switch on television at night, when he asks you to. soon he will stop asking. but if you switch it on every night when he wakes up and asks you to, he will do it all the more.

I feel that you must wean your child away from cartoons and cultivate an interest in stories that you can read to him, collective activities, visits etc

Try to switch of TV 2-4 hours before your kid goes to sleep. This way he will have a sound sleep and not a disturbed one. Read him Bed Time stories quite often whenever you find some time. Whatever a kid experiences is there for couple of hours in his mind. e.g. my daughter had a disturbed sleep when she first went to bazaar late at night. she kept on tossing and turning in the bed the same way she tossed and turned at bazaar to see all the different new things around. Probably in her sleep she was still in the bazaar. Since then we have tried not to engage in activities strong on her which will have an impression and lead to a disturbed sleep.

Dear mom,
I AM A PHYCOLOGISTS, THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH YOUR CHILD, I THINK FIRSTLY YOU HAVE TO ASK YOUR CHILD WHATS BOTHERING HIM DOES HE EAT PROPERLY E.T.C SECONDLY HE MIGHT BE WATCHING TOO MUCH T.V. THATS WHY HE TELLS YOU TO SWITCH IT ON. OR MAYBE HE IS TRYING TO GET YOUR ATTENTION IF YOU JUST HAD A NEW BABY OR SO. IF HE DOES CARRY ON THEN I SUGGEST YOU SHOULD SPEND MORE TIME WITH YOUR CHILD AND AVOID T.V FOR A WHILE DO DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES WITH HIM TAKE HIM TO FRIENDS HOUSE THEN HOPEFULLY HE WILL FORGET ABOUT CARTOON NETWORK.

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
