Hi All:
Just trying to share my exp in getting treated for Infertility. Just me and my wife' s exp, dont know how helpful it will be. We got married in 2005 and in started trying for our bundle of joy in 2006. Not successful for 6 months, went to Sagar Appollo (Leela Bhagwan). Mind you, it was my wife who pushed me there. I confess, I ws scared for sperm exam. It turned out that my wife has PCOS and that was the starting of our horrific journey for 2.5 years. Started with SR500 and tried for 4 cycles. Went for HCG and given the death penalty of both tubal blockage. Dr. Leela Bhagwan was atleast coutious to say that she is unable to help us and we should go to Dr. Nirmala Rao. Went to her and for 1.5 years faced the humiliation that an infertile couple goes thru in these clinics. Mind you, I am in IT and in a Sr position with high ego: now I understand the meaning of humility. No result: so we decided to o for IVF and we thought it would be better if we do it in Kolkata, our home town. Contacted Ghosh dastidar institute. And hold on, these guys are the biggest pain you can ever have in your life. Drs in BLR are least professional but in Kolkata, they are GODS....they will make you go to Kolkata just to see you, make you sit the whole day without any assurance that you will see them. The lady (wife of Dr GD) is a semi politician, associated with Mamta Banerjee and thinks herself no less than her. We were made to repeat all the tests and then given a date 2 mnths later after we paid 50 advance. We came back to Bangalore to stay toether for the next 2 mnths before the IVF started. I got her ticket as per her next cycle' s date. Went to Goa to free ourselves from the agony, even if for a small time. Came back on 12th Oct as her period should start from 15th. Days went by: NO PERIOD. We thought, is it possible: is she pregnant. We cant even think on those lines after the ordeal we went through. Pls believe me, my wife was of the opinion that she must have some other complication. On 19th, I just came out of office @ noon, brought UPT tool and came back home. She was not even ready to have the test. Forced her nd tested: the TWO RED LINES were the brightest RED LINES in our life. She is pregnant: We are going to be parents. Today, she is 8th month prgnant.
If you have read so far, the only thing I can tell you is that you never know when Sun is going to shine.

Here is some info which might be useful for you..
Expectant parents are now being given the option to bank their baby’s cord blood directly after birth to save for future use in the case that the child could benefit from the stem cells found in the umbilical cord. Understanding the possible benefits and expenses involved with banking cord blood is the first step to making an informed decision.
What Is Cord Blood Banking?
Cord-blood banking began after researchers discovered that umbilical cord blood was a source of stem cells—cells known to successfully treat a wide range of immune and degenerative diseases. As a result of this discovery, many parents are now banking their child’s cord blood as a sort of insurance policy, knowing that the stem cells will be a perfect match for their child, should he or she later develop a serious illness that can be treated with stem cells.
These banked stem cells have also proven to be useful in treating illnesses in siblings and other family members. In fact, studies have revealed that siblings have a one in four chance of being a perfect match.
So please bank your child stem cells to save your child' s or family members life!

Hi Ady,
I had finished my ICSI in Feb, which has been failed. We were told that there is problem is Motility and ICSi is Aexcelellent option to conceive, But when the ICSI failed doc has mentioned the Egg Quality was not so good, If she cud have done AMH Test before ICSI started. We cud have known the Egg Quality and Ovaries response to ICSI Treatment.Which she didnt even thought so. We have been to many Infertility centre, but experienced that all the Infertility doc´ s are Money minded. they dont provide the clarity. even i have been advised to repeat ICSI wid Donor Eggss and Donor Sperms, But this time we are not ready to repeat ICSI. Its v Difficult to find good doctor.
I advise you to search for good doctor before you plan for next cycle.
All the v Best to you. May god give you Strength to come out from dis.
Regards,
Monica

I am new member to this forum. Hats off to this forum for their good work in educated people and builting up the awarness, especially in this topic. Its console us in deep depression and frustration etc.
I just want to share my experience about my IVF/ICSI. I was taking TTC for past 2.5 years. Last month I was advised by my doctor to undergo ICSI due to my age factor and not to waste time on other treatment. And we agreed and went for it. In my batch, we were 7 of us who underwent the IVF at the same time. And to our bad luck, that none of us has got a positive result. I just can´ t understand, what would have went wrong with the IVF.
I am very upset and I keep discussing with my hubby that the mistake lies with the Doctor or his treatment etc.. He does not accept it fully. Why I blame the Dr is " Firstly the egg were removed from the ovary when their were in size of 18mm and secondly he implanted the embryo after 46hrs which I think should have been aleast 4 days or so I am really not sure of it" . This DR. is after money. he does spent time in explain the situation. He just spent 10 mins, atmost 15 mins. He does all the IVF/ICSI at 1am(at night, he is half asleep).
I would like to have some advice or suggestion, feedbacks from the viewer who have undergone IVF or from anybody who have good knowledge or experiences of IVF. I´ m adviced from my dr to go for another trial of IVF in the month of may.
