c- section means your baby is born by an operation, surgeon makes an opening in your abdomen n then the uterus.
The operations is the same whatever type of anaesthetic you have.its can be spinal or an epidurl anaesthetic. this one is common n safe also until unless u choose to full sleep which u can discuss with dr. allow women to stay awake n though no pain is felt.surgeon make 1st cut at the base of abodomen and then through the uterus in a line just above pubic hair.
u can feel some tugging when they pull the baby then umbilical cord is cut n baby is handed over to dr. for a check while with mum the placenta and membrances are delivered and then uterus and abdomen are stitched, take about 10 min to delive the baby n 30 min to stitch afterwards. n u will be given pain killers (tablets) to ease the pain. for more detail search on net u will find all the answer. my son was delivered by c-section in jan 2007. cos he was breach. everything went so smoothly that i did not felt even a single pain be4 or afterwards touch wood.
