I know you moms have older kiddos and Paddoo tries out home cooked foods...so Ii would like to hear ur pearls of wisdom about some food habits and prep...
Have any of you started Rice and yellow moong dhal...if so do u powder it or pressure cook it the rice and moong...what ratios?
When can we start Ragi porridge...can it be prepared from the ragi powder available in Indian stores? If so how?
Is Jaggery good for babies?? I know it makes it sweet, and kiddos would get a sweet tooth...but then...I am just wondering how to get some food in!
any fun home made snack ideas??(I liked Padoos idea of roti in formula and grinding it...)

Rice: If you dry roast rice and powder it, you're life becomes easier when you're cooking it. Whole rice cooked, doesnt mash easily and as smoothly..

Dal: I have tried moong dal with rice but tastes yuck and Kich wont go near it.

Jaggery: Very careful!! Made in extremely dirty conditions, and is half-processed raw material.. Also can give a sour edge to food..

Misri (Kalkkand): Best sweetener. Not as harmful as sugar and cleaner than jaggery.

Honey: Not till 1 year, the amercian ped's say. My dad mixes all medicines (esp. Ayurvedic) with honey.. In kerala it's one of the first things that's given to a baby.. So use your family's wisom on this.

Tell you what? Kiddos dont get a sweet tooth by eating sweet stuff.. then most of the adult popluation in this world should be milk-drinkers.. we're not na?

Go with the flow and feed him what he likes.. Poor kiddos wont understand why we are withholding what they like and are trying all tricks to make them eat what they dont..

hi all

why all of u r so silent. i know everyone are busy with kids/jobs etc. but still try to rebember this ip site and we all will be in touch sharing the milestones of our kids.
