hi jojo...

sorry for replying late.. was busy as i work and had not been online for long... YES.. i tried giving my son water in the night.. and he stopped waking up after a few nights.. normally they say they do not require milk after they r 4 months old... try that.. for the first 2 - 3 nights u might feel miserable as she will cry for the breast or bottle... but try for 4 - 5 days.. i am sure it will work.. dont worry.. they will adjust the milk they need by having more in the day...ALL THE BEST...

thanks krishi and jichi for your replies.. anyway... was just wondering... he used to hv the same problem inthe night... he woke up as he used to sleep with me.. i think due to the milk smell.. i was advised to give water... instead... i did that and he started sleeping thru the night.. though the first 2 nights i felt bad...but later he was ok... has anyone tried something like that for the day too... he sleeps about 4-5 times a day... for 30 min... is it possible to encourage him to sleep twice for an hour....

Even my daughter who is five and half months old sleeps for only 45 min at a stretch during the day. ANd she wakes up for atleast 3 feedings. SO u mean to say, if i feed her water instead of milk at night, it will help her stop her night time feedings. I am planning to give her formula midnight, so she sleeps longer. But last time i gave her formula, she vomitted a lot, so am a little reluctant.

hi rads,

my son is 61/2 months old and he sleeps 2 times in a day, and the duration is 30-45 minutes each. heard that some kids loves to play always. as krishi said, as long as he sleeps min 15 hrs in 24 hr period, it is ok.

love,
Jichi

Hi Rads,
I have a 3 month old girl who does the same thing...however I've been told it's fine as long as they sleep well during the nights. If your son manages an average of 16 hours of sleep in any 24hours then theres nothing to worry about.

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
