Hi Girls,

Hope every one is out of nausea and enjoying pregnancy. I have a question for you on milk. What kind of milk are you taking ? Regular or skimmed milk or organic milk ? Some one (not doctor)told me that we should drink organic milk. Do we need to drink organic milk ?? any one heard of this before ? Now, I am drinking regular milk only. one cup a day. Trying to drink two cups but some times i am missing. I am not sure how many times we need to drink. Any idea ?? sugestions ?

Anu.

Hello Anu,
I have never heard about organic milk, but it's preferable if you always have pasteurized milk. Also since baby is growing and calcium is good foe bones so it might be a good idea to have milk twice a day...I also miss it at night but I try to have it before going to bed.
Take care,
Priya

Hi! I am in my 13th week.
I am in normal weight range(not under, not over weight). And I asked my doctor the same question and she told me to take skim milk. She also told me if i don't gain any weight or if I lose weight in future, then she said she MAY suggest whole milk. She basically said the difference between both types is only fat content and if I am in normal weight range, then increasing fat content will not help in any other way other than gaining MY own weight NOT BABY'S. Anyway talk to ur doctor in ur next appointment b'coz lot of these differs from person to person. Hope this helps. Best of Luck!

Thanks for your input. I will check with my Doc and switch to skim milk. You know what, surprisingly I drank milk 3 times yesterday. Hope I can continue that. Well, have a happy pregnancy.

Take care
Anu

Hi Anu,
I think normal or skim milk is fine.
I am talking 1 cup whole milk since I want to gain weight too. Doctor told that protein is very vital. So we need to take more milk, curd and cheese.
I try to eat the flavoured yogurt cup atlesat one a day. Then a bowl of ice cream and then curd with regular food and then atlesat 1-2 slices of cheese daily, I make like grilled cheese sandwitch. Try to make many servings of milk and milk products a day.
Good for ur baby.
Happy pregnancy.
Pinky

Hi Anu,
Yes, things feel better now after all that nausea!

I take skim milk with bournvita. I'm only able to drink one and a half cups a day. I'll slowly increase it.

My doctor said that skim milk was fine. But he asked me to drink 3 big glasses of milk every day.
