Hello Parents

If you have been successful in completing adoption I was hoping if any one of you is willing to share the experience and what should i be mindful of.

I have the following queries to be more precise:

1. Is the legal route CARA absolutely mindless in terms of adopting a child as it seems to be redundantly slow.

2. Is it OK to accept calls (resulting from the post on this forum) soliciting adoption of new born children? I mean, is this legal & what about the legal formalities involved?

3. What other things one should be mindful of as this emotional decision made in haste shouldn' t deter the right approach?

stella replied. Hi, I have adopted a baby last year. Trust me, this is the best thing that has happened in my life.
Regarding adoption, the first thing is always go legal. About CARA, you can just go thro the rules there but once ur home study is done just try contacting all possible agencies(nmbrs available from cara website) and keep calling them. Don' t assusme that once you ghave redistered they will come with a baby. In my case I' ve called many places and had waited for 3 yrs. The waiting is worth but you need to follow up. According to me if u have decided to adopt JUST ADOPT...you will have lots of people who will be with your decition and many useless people who will be againt you. Just do it for your ownself.
