thanks for your advice. i dont know why the dr. has given me drugs from 20th day of this cycle. i just thought it is part of the procedure. i have pcos as well. may be because of that. do you think that we need to take rest before doing ivf?

best of luck for your cycle. i had a very long cycle last month almost 40 days. did your dr. give you any pills? i have heard about mock tests though my dr. will not do it. i think its good to do a mock test so that the dr. knows about your body. pls share your details. take care.

Hi Blue,

My cycle is already started on 2nd of this month. I am taking Injection and gng for scan every alternate day. Today was my 5th ijection, As per today´ s scan i have 8 follicole which r growing, and Doc has mentioned she is adding one more injection with that you will produce few more Folicles. Even i m gng through ICSI, and also suggested that after lab fertilisation they will check the Embryos Quality and if its good Quality Embroys then we can freeze rest embroys. whenever u want to have baby agn, you can just opt for Embryos Transfer, Will not required to go through complete IVF/ICSI cycle, All the v Best for your ICSi Cycle.

hi monica,
thanks for your reply. i was also given antibiotics. i am supposed to start medicines for ivf from 20th of this cycle. they are used for ovarian suppression. may be your dr. is using a different protocol. i am doing icsi not ivf. when are you starting your cycle? i think your cycle will start before mine. i am praying for u:)

Hi Blue,

Even i given some medicines, before my IVF Schedule, Which was for Harmonal Balance for 21 days and Some antibiotics for 5 days to prevent any kind of Pelvic Infection. But other then that i was not on any medication.

do not worry simple process

Hi Monica,
Mock transfer or Trial transfer is done before IVF just to see whether all will be ok during final transfer or not .Cathederer- through which the embryo is transfered is fixed .
Actually some ladies with some problems like small cervix etc. might have problem in passage so it is good and better on the part of the Dr. to do the trial transfer to be fully prepared for the final transfer .Do not worry if all is ok it does not cause any pain at all .My Dr. told me to keep brething heavily so that it goes smooth when i got the IVF done and beleive me not pain at all .
Just be relax and stressfree .

Thanks you so much for your message. Today i went through my Mock Transfer and first scan and Injection. Mock trnasfer went v well.it wasnt painfull as you have mentioned. after gng through all dis i am feeling relaxed now, and Hoping everything will go as smooth as today experience.

I' m not very sure of ET Mock Test. I havent undergone such test, but if you have already decided to undergo IVF with that clinic..pls trust them and pray to god. Things should be okay.

I think you have been choosen for long cycle, where in medications will be prescribed from 20th day of cycle and during ur next 2nd day all other intial investigations would be done. We cant do anything about egg quality, but doctors do change medicines, doses, etc by monitoring your follicle size/quality. Try to be relaxed and positive which is far most important and it does makes magic.

Once you have come to point to undergo IVF, dont think about its pain. Try to be releaxed and wish u all the success.
But just fyi, below are various procedures done during IVF:

1) Doctor have to do various evaluations like blood test, uterus lining, hormone study, follicle study etc. So you will be asked to come for scan during 2nd day of your cycle.

2)After intial study, you will be asked to take certain medication and injections to support egg development.

3)Few days later you will be asked to be undergo procedure for collecting egg

4)In laborotory, egg will be fertilized with your parterns sperm and you will be required come 2-3 days for transfering embryo.

5)Now you have to wait for 2 weeks for result outcome (could be you most stressfull time)

After confirmation also you may have to take certain medications and injections upto 3 months or so.

So dont think about all the pains...Be bold and have a trust in god. You will be blessed with child.

HI Blue,

Thanks for your message.I am gng for IVF Cycle in next 3-4 days, I am just waiting for my periods, 2nd day of Periods i will have my session strating, Also my doc has told me before they will Start my IVF Cycle, They will do a Mock Test for Embryo Transfer so they can check how my body Will react. I am based in Bangalore, I am little Nervous but keeping my fingers crossed.

its nice to hear your experience about the procedure. i am going to do my first Ivf/icsi in next cycle i.e february/march. i am supposed to take medicines from 20th day of my cycle. Do you have any suggestions to improve my egg quality in the meantime? lol
