Due Date Club January 2006:Archie - Question

Hi Archie,
I don't know whether you remember me or not. Earlier i have written 2-3 times only. In Feb i had a miscarriage and then later in May i asked you question about boiled egg.
By God's grace and your advice this time i have completed 14 weeks 5 days. Today i went for my doctor's appt. and we heard our baby's HB again.
Only problem is my weight gain last 4 weeks is 4.5lb. My doctor said it's more than avg. Only food intake i have increased is fruits, but according to doctor fruits are like deserts and contains lots of sugar. He has asked me to reduce the fruit to one serving and asked not to take any packed juices. He also asked me to increase my protien intake.
But i am vegetarian (i used to eat eggs before pregnancy). Can i now start boiled eggs. What other things can i take to increase proteins?

meenu,
I remember your case.
proteins can be obtained from followings
milk
beans, and peas in diet
some cheese, say low fat mozzarella or non fat cheese is good idea
yogurts try to utilize low fat to non-fat one serving of normal yogurt is ok per day.
you can eat boiled egg, boil it for at least 15 minutes, try to eat egg white and remove egg yolk -thats full of fats.

avoid fruit juice for sure
include only one good serving of fruit, lot of carbs otherwise.

Have any of you pierced your baby´ s ears?
Have any of you pierced your baby' s ears? Where did you get it done? Were you able to change the earrings after the piercing and put on indian ear rings? My pediatrician does not do it, and she suggested that i take tanvi to the mall. Pls share your experiences at the mall if you' ve had any.
