Due Date Club November 2003:it turns out

Name: Avi that I am the pregnant out and my parents seem to be feeling some of the effects of it (blurry minds)...
My dad calls day-before-yesterday night and tells me that they will be here today and not on Saturday - it seems they misread the dates on the tickets...
so I've was running around cleaning the house and getting things ready for them the whole of yesterday...

I will be away for most of today too.....have to go pick them up in a couple of hours...
So will catch up with you all a little later......

Welcome to the parents

Hi Avi. Welcome to your mum and dad. Hope their flight went well and you are feeling the excitement after having actually met them. I know the nerves of the waiting and the whole ordeal our bodies are going through, does take the excitement element out but that's the beauty of parents, when they arrive, they distract ur mind and u will feel reassured and pampered too. I'm sure u will start enjoying the fact that they arrived just in time.

So I gather u would be doing more active shopping....Avi, U n I are in the same boat....not long to go....I am getting nervous by the hr!

Two more weeks at work, have my review today, hope it all goes well.

Have got the wooden flooring done yesterday, no more carpet in the living room, so less chance of shouting at baby for making mess etc. Bedrooms still have carpet, to keep them cozy.

Have a splendind Diwali and wicked weekend ahead.

Hi Avi. Lovely to hear ur dad is settling fine and don't worry with ur bundle of joy out soon, all they will want to be is grand parents and nothing else would matter. So chill out. I'm sure ur mum will help u organise the hospital bag etc. I have two night gowns coming for the hospital in the post so hopefully that should start my packing. And then only taking, shawl, couple of baby suits and diapers and wipes for the baby. Let's see how I get on.

Thanks Simmi, u sure are the sweetest...
I was kinda anxious about their visit and stressed out that my dad would be bored staying home (cause he has busy schedule in India)..but I feeel much better now... cause dad seems to have come prepared to entertain himself.. :)

HOpe your review at work went great....

ya know, I didn't think about carpeting and baby related mess until you mentioned it... hopefully by the time he is big enough to be on the floor, I will be more prepared to handle it....

in the same boat... yes we are.. :) and although I am looking forward to having to out with me, I surely am getting quite anxious about everything that is to come.....
I've been trying to take it one day at a time and not think ahead too much...

I dont have too much of shopping to do... I bought most of the basics already...I just have to pack my bag..
All I have so far in my hospital bag are 3 pairs of socks... :)

Anyways........a happy diwali to you too and Have a great weekend....get that rest you need..

First part of the dream is already wrong, I thought they would come on a Saturday. Who knows, the cooking part would still come true. Nevertheless, enjoy their early arrival.

I've been so bored and lethargic, I can't get my fingers to type even a single letter. Hope to be more active soon. Like Arshiya, the waiting is killing me.

Hi Vidhya. Sorry to hear you are feeling lethargic but sitting position at work can be quite exhausting! It is 9AM and my back is already hurting sitting on the PC, have the whole day ahead. Have another two weeks to go through like this, but has to be done. I look at the bright side that I get to chat with all of you regularly so that helps me going! U too have three more weeks at work, so hang in there...

Wow!

Avi,

Wow, your parents will be with you in couple of hours then, so exciting. You must be very eager to meet them.
I am actually getting very nervous for the D-day and thatswhy I was all sad whole day yesterday, didn't feel like doing anything. I also missed chatting with you and Vindhya yesterday. I don't know what's happening with me this days, can't concentrate on one thing.
I have a weekly appt. tomorrow, let's see how it goes. Hopefully, some progess is there cuz I have been walking a lot now. Also, want the baby out now and get it over with.
Have fun spending some quality time with your parents now, I am sure you'll be little busy from now on. I am just waiting for my mom too now. One more week to go.

Hi Arshiya. Sorry to hear that you are not feeling gr8. Trust me, I feel down in the dumps too. The body weight, the fatigue, the anxiety of labour, of course, it is not easy to cope with all this, even if hubby is there beside. But would admit that sharing this with u guys sure makes me feel somewhat better. So try and keep the faith and I'm sure ur bundle of joy will be with u n before u know u will be loving it all!

I feel ya

Hey A, I totall understand what you are going through.... I've been really down in the dumps myself...
I feel like I am not even excited enough to see my parents in a loooong time....all I want to do is crawl into a corner and stay there....
Hubby has been clueless as to what to do... :)

But, we do need to cheer ourselves up for the baby's sake...
Hang in there, we are almost there...infact the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter everyday... :)
One more week, and you will have your mom to keep you company at home..and things will get much better... :)
