Hi Komal and Swathi
They let you check in the stroller just before hopping on to the flight at the gate. So you don't have to count that as hand luggage. I don't know about the luggage for baby because we didn't take much. Call your travel agent for that. Call well in advance to book the bassinet. Ask ur travel agent to do that for you. WE booked our tickets by expedia and couldn't do that and American Air doesn't have bassinets anymore. So that sucked!
Swathi, I took my regular stroller. But it is a lightweight one. So I had no problems. Just buy one with a basket and has a good canopy. My friend was telling me that she saw something with a basket and an umbrella at Kmart. I have heard that Maclaren quests are good. But they are expensive.
Komal, thanks for the tips. Diya does sleep good. I was just wondering about the magic amount of time she has to be up to get a long nap which she used to do before.
Also, if you are going alone, I would take a baby bjorn like carrier. Because after checking in, you still have to take one hand luggage right. If you skip that hand luggage and just take a big diaper bag, then a stroller might work. Just imagine yourself walking to the far away gates and choose either a carrier/stroller. To take both, would be great! Because holding her in the carrier was difficult too after a point. For us, we had to go to several airports because we live in a small town. If you don't have to use the narrow restrooms or could wait for the restrooms for disabled people in the airports, then you can just get away with the stroller. In the flights, you could put her in the bassinet/give her to the flight attendant.
Give her a paci/bottle at take off/landing. Take some small toys with you in the diaper bag to keep them occupied. I have started rambling very much as usual.
Love to Rajju and Megs
