Hello my dear friends,

did any of you got a chance to look at your baby in the ultrasound till now? When is the first one usually done..i mean around which weeks? I am longing to see my baby!!

one more question, when will the belly start to grow usually? Is it from 12th week ? I am now 13.2weeks and I feel my belly became little big, though all my pants still fit me. I don't know if it is my feeling or it really became big :-) For now, nobody is able to make out that I am pregnant.

I am in europe and got my first scan done in the 5th week itself. I am 10.4 weeks pregnant now. Here the docs do the scanning in each visit so i have got 3 scans till date and i cud see the heart beat though the baby was too small. Its a real exiting moment to see ur baby. soni replied. Usually,
the first ultrasound is done between 13 - 18 week if everything is normal if you have problem with cyst and stuff they do it in your 8th/10th week.So maybe this visit your ob will check you and may send you for ultrasound .It is exciting .
And about your belly seems to me this is your first baby and with the first one it always show at the end of 4th mth - 5th since legaments and your utreus is expanding you will show little late .Try to ware loss pants even though they fit don't get scared and all oh i ware them my baby just try and ware somthing loss to let legament expand without any future headach of pain issue with that.

I too am 13.4 weeks pregnant n it's my 1st time, my gyne did the U/S at 8th week n we cud see the tiny baby n his heartbeat. Well like Leo said, it is done 2-3 times throughout ur pregnancy n depends upon ur OBs discretion.
Now my next U/S wud b on the 2nd of July.
I have started showing up a little, n the saddest part is i dnt fit into any of my pants/capris n suits, so have started wearing skirks n have purchased few maternity clothes as well.
How r u doing otherwise, started liking food or not yet ?? I wish u gud luck n a very healthy pregnancy. take care of urself n ur li'l one :)

Generally u/s are done at 20 weeks. But my doc did one at 8 weeks. Even i was surprised that she did one so early, but was very excited as this is my first and seeing what is within u on screen for the first time was exciting. We cud not see much but cud see something flickering and the technician told us it is the heartbeat. Nothing much was established as it was very early, they took some measurements and told us the heartbeat rate.

Ultrasounds are done according to the ob's discretion.If they feel necessary according to patient history etc they do it. Generally i read that there will be 2-3 u/s done throughout in the pregnancy; one at 20 wks to establish gender and growth etc and one after 30 wks or later just to make sure baby is doing fine and to chk the amount of amniotic fluid etc.

I am 12wks now & even i feel my belly has started becoming big (though only little). But my pants still fit me. I think it will take a while for us to shop for maternity clothes:)
