Hi
I am 37 weeks 3 days and today at my doc's appt I measured 40 cm fundal height.I have been always measuring 2-3 cms more from 28 weeks onwards but today the doctor checked the cervix and suspects it might be a very big baby but thats strange as I am 5.1 ft and hubby is 5.6 ft.
She confirmed that I have no extra fluid that often makes one measure big.

So she is sending me for an ultrasound.I am worried.Anyone had this before or knows anything? Nick replied. Hi Everyone

I had my ultrasound and they said the baby now weighs 8 pounds.Thats a bit scary as I am in my 38th week(actually 37 weeks 4 days) and that means in 2-3 weeks it can reach 10-11 pounds.The technician said its a big baby and its hard to believe its coming from me ;-)
I have normal sugar.
My doc wasn't there during the ultrasound so will talk to her on Thursday.Will keep you all updated.

Manvi-yes my parents are coming from India.They are reaching here on 1st oct and my due date is 5th.

I know that u will be worrying there.Don't worry.Every thing will be fine with you.As manvi said the US can tell the measurement accurately.So wait till the result comes.Don't get tensed.I have heared many women in your position.i will pray for you.Do update about you when u return from the US.take care dear and try not to worry.

kals Manvi replied. All the usual causes for measuring above normal have been ruled out by your Ob.It could just be that your baby is big&healthy.While getting the scan done ask abt all the measurements& the baby wt.U/S is the best answer for those measuring big,so just relax.
Anyway just wanted to tell you please throw in a pair of your's&baby's clothes&the basic stuff into a bag.You r in wk 36/37 i think right.

im from dec board just wrote a reply but dont know where did it disappeared.even i have the same prob like urs.in my 23rd wk the doc said my fundal height is more than it should be, but then seh said that the growth of the baby is more in some month.but last time in my 28th wk again it was more so did an ultra soound to check the amniotic fluid. but even that was ok. so got my gtt done cos if u have dibaties then the baby is big. but even my sugar was normal .so she said the baby is big n healthy.even im 5.2' n my hubby is 5.6' like u .even im a bit worrie dbaout it .plz let me know what did ur doc have to say about it.

im from dec board.u know even i have this prob . wehn my doc checked the fundal height in my 23rd wk she said its more than it should be ti was 26.but then she said sometimes the growth in some particular month is more. but again last time in my 28th wk she checked n again it was more so she did an ultra sound to check the amount of amniotic fluid .but it was ok then seh said to get my gtt done cos most of the times in case the mother has gestational dibeties the baby is big. but then the test showed normal sugar. so she just said that the growth of the baby is nice n the baby is big but every thing is normal.evn i am 5.2' n my hubby is 5.6' even i was worried like u but then i think we cant do anything about it.so take care n tell me what did the ultra sound show n what did ur doc has to say about it.

even my baby kicks me cak when i keep my hand where he is moving n i love it . u know i play wiht him for hrs sometimes. i dont think the the baby gets irritated or somthing cos i heve a book onpreg written by a gyne who used to do the same thing .infact even her husban dused to tap lighly evrnight n the baby used to respond to that.so dont worry prob that's its way of saying hello .take care
