Hi,

I am going to get ICSI done next month. I am in US and the doctors here suggest that we should go for single embryo instead of multiples. I am a 28 yr old female and my husband is 30. Can anybody share their experience with single embryo implantation and the success rates with single embryo.

Hello Ran,

Is ur doc doing a Blastocyst(5day) transfer or the 3 day transfer? With a Blastocyst they say there is a better chance of getting pregnant. So even if they transfer a single embryo the chances are higher compared to a 3rd day transfer. Why is ur doc suggesting a single embryo? How many fertilized embryos do you have. Are you cryopreserving any? I wish you all the best. God Bless.

Hi Swetha,

Thanks for responsding. Yes the doc said that he will do the 5 day transfer. I think in US its becoming a law. By 2012, they want to eradicate multiple pregnancies. So the doc suggested single embryo transfer. This is going to be our first attempt, so i don´ t know who many eggs doc will be able to extract. They did an egg quality test on me which came out to fine and the quality of the eggs were good. And yes, we do plan to freeze the embryo for future use.
