I'm in my 9th week of pregnancy and I have had 2 u/s till now. First one was around 6th week and second one in 9th week. I think my next one will be on my 12 weeks checkup. I asked my doctor and she said its totally safe. Hope that helps. Radhi replied. hi, im from the dec due date club. well i had 4 u/s in my 1st trimester. 5th, 6th, 12th and 13th weeks. i had some spotting n bleeding so u/s were justified. ive heard that u/s are not bad for the baby. its just sound waves which touch ur baby n get reflected back on the screen as an image of the foetus. its considered quite safe. but in my 2nd trimester i had only 1 minor u/s and one detailed one in my 20th week to rule out foetal anomalies. now since ive moved from a high risk pregnancy to a normal one i do not have to get frequent u/s done. maybe i will have one in the 8th month and that cud very well be the last.
