Hi all,
I am 11 weeks pregnant after my IUI procdure. I had 4 foetus which have been reduced to 1. My gynae has suggested to put a stich in the uterus at around 17th week as a precautionary measure. Does anyone here has somewhat similar situation. I have gone though a lot during IUI cycles and during termination of multiple foetuses, physically and mentally. Any suggetions?

Tks

Hi rachna,
Congrats that you are in your 11th week of pregnancy. I wish and pray that your pregnancy goes through fine. I have a question. I am pregnant with triplets after IVF and is in my 8th week. I want to know how did you reduce your multiple featuses to one? Also I am not sure I understand how you got multiple fetueses with IUI? Did you get any injections like follitism? Please let me know as this will help towards my concern and any decision. Thank you.

In IUI, I was given injections to produce multiple eggs. this is done to increase the chances of conception. So I ended up with 4 naughy guys entering the desired area.
the procedure of fetal reduction is not very complicated. i was given local anesthesia. Doctor then inserted the needle in the fetus and kind of punctured it. One of the fetus was very stubborn and was not willing to go. So KCL was injected in that sack. It took about an hour. And I was discharged in a day.
I hope it helped. Let me know if you have any other questions. Now I am in my 17th week of pregnancy. All going on fine. Although, as per doctor, mine is a high risk pregnancy as too much interference has been done with the uterus. I have to take this pregnancy very easy and consider myself lucky if I could carry it full term.

diet during pregnancy
Maintaining a healthy diet during pregnancy is very important.

During this time, your body needs additional nutrients, vitamins and minerals.

In fact, you may need 350–500 extra calories each day during the second and third trimesters.

A diet lacking in key nutrients may negatively affect the baby’s development.
