Hello all,
I am sorry girls, we are not allowed to use any messenger in office hence I don't have MSN id. But anyway, I think the time difference is so much that we can hardly meet online. Its better to post message here.
Padmaja, it seems u are not very happy with Lamaze classes. I still have to go for it. I am also scared for the D-day. I think meditation will help you. Try to meditate in the mornings. My mom in law also kept saying not to buy anything until baby arrives but then no one will come later so I bought some stuff. I got old cotton sari, which people say are very comfortable for babies in initial 2-3 months since they like to be wrapped. Also I bought 2 dozen cotton napies (in case there is a allergy with disposable napies) Then bought few cloths which are warm (since winter will start in nov/dec) My mom will make some towels from old cotton saries for baby to sleep. I prefer all used and old cotton cloths because they are very soft and warm.
Mekha, me and my baby enjoyed all sorts of food. I had so many baby showers there, ate all sweet stuff and also ate bhel and all chat pata snacks. And don't worry to much. Ur mom will definately get visa. I know US visa is always a trouble but lets hope for the best.
Jyotsna, I think I have also put on lot of weight but this time I can feel all weight is of baby. Its getting difficult to get up if I sit for a long time. All the best for ur GTT test. Do not worry much, u r so fit, I am sure u will pass the test.
Nivea, nice name ... I am from Bibwewadi area and my in laws are near swargate. People in pune are still the same apart from few new development and same bad roads. But I really enjoyed watching movie and drama and eating all sorts of pune special food. Do u speak marathi? People there say if u have tummy like coconut and if ur nose size has increased, its a boy.
Girls, my belly has become very itchy in this 2 weeks. I apply coca butter twice a day but it looks horrible. Any other suggestions?
Take care

Mekha replied. Hey four of you,
Good to see you all here. I wasn't feeling well yesterday due to the stomach problem. Mostly tums helps me a lot but last night it wasn't working at all. Anyway i am feeling alright.
Sakhi, Nice to hear that you had enjoyed a lot in india and had baby shower too. It must be quite refreshing for you after coming back from india, right? I know US visa is trouble but as you said hope for the best. My dad speaks marati very well and i do understand too coz we had been living in nagpur for quite a long time. Sakhi, as padmaja said before we can keep in touch through email too.
Jyotsna, In u.s doctors provide epidural or any other medication if patients request for it. There is no problem about it. I don't have any idea how i am going to face all the pains that time .
Padmaja, nice to chat with you too yesterday and see you soon in msn. Nivea how are you doing? Hope pregnacy is coming along well for you.
Girls, take care all of you and keep posting!
Padmaja replied. Things have been okay this past week with me, had been to my OBGYN appointment and he said baby's head is not down yet, send me baby's head turning vibes girls !! Anyways I am not worried as I still have 1 1/2 months for my due date.
Well nivea, I am not very impressed with those classes as they no doubt talked about breathing and relaxation I felt pretty silly just going there and watching all those vedios of birthing babies as I get to see on TLC TV channel the same kind of stuff.I expected probably much more than they are offering there I guess. But strangely we are going to this hospital called JFK which is darn good one. Guess I am not giving due credit, probably the classes are helpful ! As DH says I am hard to please !!! I am open to anything be it epidural or something else to get me through that one day! But as jyotsna said in India epidurals though are not common here we have that option right away but then I hear that during pushing you still feel numb and it takes a little longer. Well lets see.
Hey Jyotsna, I saw your MSN message later on, actually I keep the puter on most of the time and keep roaming about, sorry to have missed your message.About GD test, do go. Trust me it helps to know that you are clear. But I understand that you want to go with your husband. We also see to it that our doc's appointments are either during the evenings or weekends as my Dh can come along.
Amma is doing okay jyotsna, but I feel she is beginning to get restless as she works back home as an auditor its pretty difficult to stick to four walls here. To top it all I am not driving for a while now and it is so hot here these days that we hardly step out of the house until evening. Of course she denies and says my mind is hyper active.Once the baby comes both of us will not have time I guess ! As far as liking the place, she is meha impressed with Indian market here as we get pretty much everything here.We took her to places like statue of liberty and casino( !!) Rest of the places like niagara falls, washington will have to come after the delivery. Enough of my ramayana right??
Mekha, good to see you on-line yesterday sorry had to cut short our talk. I had UPS delivery and was curious as to what I got from my friend in ohio. Will probably see you some time one of these days.
Sakhi, I agree it is difficult to catch each other on-line because of the time difference but the idea was to stay in touch even after our babies arrive so do pass on your hotmail id so I can make a note of it. Your India trip sounds really delicious !! How does it feel coming back to HK and joining work again? When are you planning to go on break? Hey by the way, my husband though a telugu guy comes from Nagpur and studied in Mumbai so he speaks marathi too.
I itch a lot too girls, no amount of oil or cocoa butter is helping with the itch or stretch marks, joys of pregnancy I guess.
So this is it folks, take care and keep posting
-Itchy Padmaja !!
jyotsna replied. Hi nivea, padmaja, mekha and sakhi
i have not gone for my gtt as yet..call me lazy, laidback ...this time yes i am totally spaced out.Im actually waiting for the right day to do it,preferably when my husb hs a hol.Ill do it this saturday before i see my gynaec next week.
Nivea,in india, epidural is not commonly given and most friends i know avoid it unless absolutely essential.Abroad,it may be different..i dunno.
I will speak to my gynaec as well.I take homoepathy on a regular basis for many years with our family homoepath, and i have hopes that will help.
padmaja,mekha..how are you two?padmaja--hows your mom?is she liking it there?do u have a lot of family there otherwise?
take care girls
jyotsna replied. hi sakhi,
good to read your posting about your holiday.Your stuff for the baby sounds just what is needed for the baby. This time round,my ma-in-law made the stuff for me--mul-mul frocks and nappies and sheets of flannel and small towels. It becomes difficult to do all this aftre the baby is born and one does have to be practical. My mom on the other hand feels i should wait till the baby is born.I do have some old stuff as well of ananya's so i will use that as well.
My hunger pangs have started now--i feel like snacking a lot,i try and balance my choclate intake but just cannot resist them.
For itching and marks or styrations, use vitamin-e--skin oil or coconut oil.Vitamin e-oil has helped me a lot this time as last time i didnt use it.This time i feel the difference.Ask your mom to get it for you or u may be getting it there as well.
Ive been to 2 prenatal classes so far and am not doing all of them --just 2 more to go for breathing and delivery.MY daughter has hols right now so i will schedule the classes for september.
take care
Nivea replied. Hi everyone,

It's a GIRL !!!!!!
Hi all,
I delivered a beautiful baby girl on 23rd November
at around 2 a.m. She weighed at 8lb 13oz & is 21\"; tall. It was a normal delivery, the mom & the baby are doing fine. We named her \";Shreya\";.
My mom and myself decided to put our creative skills and mind to work (optimum use of my maternity leave!) and have come up with these beautiful Quilts-cum-Comforters for Babies and Kids as well as for Adults. I am just spreading the good word around – some kind-av-marketing, you can say! I urge you to check out this stuff on ‘www.indiapare... - Irene Kurdikar [View Message]
our prayers are with you
Dear Jyotsna,
At first congrats to you and your DH for a lovely baby girl. We all pray for Anandita and your family. May god be with you. Don't worry too much, I know its easy to say but hope for the best.
