Crying & Colic:Gripe Water?

My son is 7 months old. And he gets loose motions very frequently. My mother says I should give him Gripe Water regularly. But his doctor says, don't give gripe water as it contains alcohal and not good for the babies. Pls advice as per your experience.

Herbal remedy

Hi, kanchan saw your msg. This is mamta , mother of 16-month old aarushi. When she was teething i used a herbal water suggested by one of my close relative. You can boil 2 tbs of saunf along with some ajwain seeds and a little of sugar and a pinch of salt to it. You can give this to your baby three times a day, two tbspn each. Fresh water has to be boiled every day. As it contains natural items, itis quite safe and does not have any side effects. The baby feels relieved immediately.

Thanks, for the reply shweta.I have started giving him BONNISON by Himalayas since yesterday... Will see how effective it is.
Can you suggest any other brand, if you have used for your baby?

gripe water by woodworth is excellent! does anyone know if bonnison is a good appetite stimulant for infants? my baby won' eat and so is not gaining good weight.

where do u live?
if u live in US - u can get gripe water in major indian stores.
and my mother in law got the Dabur one for my son.
that's also good.
as long as they are non alcholic- they are fine.
u also get it at GNC and Babies r us
