Due Date Club July 2005:sweety,schedule.

hi sweety, sorry got busy in guests.replying late so posting in new thread.
your schedule for whole day for solids looks great.except for the juice part.and the part that until 4pm, krish is getting all juices, vegies and fruits and at night, only cereal !!!
try offering juice or fruit pulp with water in the late evenings, as it will keep babies hrydrated.
try to balance all the cereal feeds with either fruits or vegies ! like in the noons you give vegies, try to give juices in the noons and handpicked vegies for self eatin to baby and then some vegies with the evening cereal. this will develop good eating habits.
i saw one menu plan which was pretty convincing to me in one of the cookbooks, m reading these days,,,i started with nirja, she is goin good with that...c if you want to try.
early morning 530/6 - feed or 6 oz of bm or formula (only after night 1/2 am feed.)
900am breakfast, cereals + fruits ( 2-3 fruits a min , combine fruits with iron with fruits with vitamin c, for max iron absorption )
1030/11 am,brunch - bm or formula, 5 oz a minimum.
between breakfast and brunch if baby sleeps the intake of formula or bm will b less !
12 noon, 1-2 spoons of water.spoon which u use to make them eat !
100 - lunch , khichadi or 1.5 full tablespoons of uncooked dal and rice, i have combined all of them, 1:2 ratio of dal is to rice and stored in the container, for everyday use and whenever in use, just measure acc to baby intake and add vegies )
make sure you use all the dals ( moongdal more, less of tuver, channa and massoor)
you might try combining some vegies with it. a min of 2 vegies.

330 afternoon, brunch, bm or formula, some 6,7,8 oz depending on baby apetite.
again, if baby sleeps after lunch, dont expect him to drink more milk or formula.
they say that babies should b able to drink but its all dpending on how far baby has accepted solids.
5-530, some juice or combinations of juices , the rest of 3 fruits,,,use fruits, which you have already tried.add water to the ratio of 1:3 or 4. depending on taste of the pulp ( 1 pulp : 3 or 4 water )

7/730/8/830 - allocate for dinner time, if baby gets hungry by 7, give him couple oz of bm or formula,, give dinner( cereal + 3 vegies ) after minimum 20 mins or at 830/9. your dinner time is ok, if krish sleeps at 1030/11.in short, there should b minimum 2 hours of difference between the time baby finishes dinner and a good night sleep..

and then 9 onwards, nothing except bm or formula, full feeds/ 7-8 ozs. this way, there is less possibility that baby will become hungry by 2 or 3 night.
make sure, before he sleeps, try giving him couple oz more, but no force.also, its good to give couple of spoons of water so that, he remains hydrated thru out night. most of the times, 8 month babies arent hungry in the first half of night, they often are thirsty.
again, after all this, want to mention that if baby skips dinner by chance or doesnt eat well at dinner, give him feeds at first half of night,,he needs it !
also, as and when babies grow, they will drink less milk and will b interested in foods/solids..by the 1 year their milk intake will come to 2 cups in total, with 4 times solids and 1 time fruit juice.
so dont count on milk after 9 months,, as far as your baby is lively, happy, not fussy and is growing acc to dr expectations, maintain all the habits he is into,,.

take care,Love to krish,
hope this helps.

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
