Joint Family:Returning to work after mat leave and a long gap

Name: Megha

Ladies,
Please share your experiences about how it was to return to work after having a kid. I have a year old son and have been out of work for more than 2 years now. and can' t go back to work until next year. I am all confused of how i will be able to manage. Issues involve the following -childcare, hours of working, options like home-working , plus biggest issue is since i am (rather was) in IT field i need to do a lot to update myself to get back in the industry. I really don' t know where to start from. But want to do my homework before i actually start working.
Please share experiences.

Hie!!lot of women face these issues..2 yrs is a long gap, dear!!!!but still not late.depening on yr skils....u can join a small firm so tht u wil fsce less competition and can upgrade yr skills by then..in 6 months time u wil b fully ready to join MNC' s....as far as yr child is concerned u could leave him in a creche or with inlaws/parents...but make sure u spend 2 hours full with him everyday.atleast one meal shud b given with u..this wil increase the bonding,....

Should a single man live with his mum in India?
I am a man in my late 40s and I have lived abroad in USA for the past two decades. I never had any interest in marrying or having kids so I never married. Recently my Dad passed away and my mother will be alone. I have made enough money to retire comfortably but because I am used to the American lifestyle I can't live in India. Recently my relatives have started saying tha... - Venkat Dabri [View Message]
