Hi Guys,
Its nice to read that you all are doing fine. I am still dealing with my sore throat and more or less Asthma kind of thing. I went to my Physician and he said its not a sore throat but you are having allergy/could be asthma which many people face during last trimester. I haven't slept from last 6days becoz it starts in night only.

i am soo scared because I cough like anything and its dry. It puts soo much pressure on my pelvis and the baby also kind of shakes with me.

I am very reluctant to take all the anti allergy medication which my doc has prescribed but I think after not sleeping from last 6days I have to take them. there does not seems to be other alternative for it.

Any of you guys feeling something like that ? let me know.
As I don't sleep I am not going to work these days.

I am not sure if this condition wud persist even after pregnancy.I am thinking not.I have never been diagnosed with asthma (mild) b4 although i do get dry cough evry fall/winter. With med's i am cing an improvement. I was also prescribed Nasonex(nasal spray) but deicided not to use nasal sprays. So just sticking to the streoid low dose inhaler. doc said this wud only goto the lungs and only a v.small amt wud if at all be absorbed by the bloodstream. so i am hoping and praying that it shud be okay. I dunno..
it wud be a good idea to inform/remind ur ob/gyn during labor that u were on meds for mild asthma coz if u using anaesthesia i think its better to let em know.
One home remedy for dry cough is to have hot milk boiled with lil turmeric and lil pepper. .I can imagine how hard it is to be coughing throughout the nite and losing sleep over it. Try this and i hope it works for ya !!!

Hey Ruchika, so sorry to hear that you are not feeling too good...must be hard on you...

I hope the websites that Vindhya mentioned had more info for you... and I hope you get well soooooooon....

and about your cough affecting the baby - dont worry - cause he/she is quite protected inside...

Its good that your are staying home... keep yourself warm and do take the medication - if the doc thinks they are ok, then they should be...and rest up

I belong to the Feb 2004 due date club. I too face the same problem. and i am on asthma inhalers as my doc said nuthin is more dangerous than a mom who cant breathe...U can refer to my message in the Feb 04 club.Name - Smiley.

Hi Smiley,
I did read your post in Feb board. Actually for me doc gave me one nasal spay called RHINOCORT. And I just hate taking medicines and was not sure whether it is good for baby or not. But after talking to many doctors I decided to take it.
I took it yeaterday only and I am feeling better. I am having terrible dry cough and I cough a lot during nights. I can't even sleep . As I am in 36th week now I used to feel so much pressure and I used to feel sacred.

I am talking that nasal spay and benadryl syrup at nights. Do you know if it is going to be there for sometime of even after your pregnancy ?

Thanks for all your support. I am really feeling better after reading all these messages. Vidhya I will definately check all the sites you have sent.
I have started taking medicine and I am feeling better this morning. I could sleep yesterday night after a long long time.
Will update you guys with my situation.

so sorry to hear that u have a problem so now a days u can`nt eat nothing like that or what do not do like that take some of the food and take the alergy medicine that is prescribed by Dr. so do not worry at all.
Not sleep for 6 days my god... i understand what`s your situation. take care and do not hezitate to take medicine that help to your baby to other wise due to shake and all it difficult for baby too

Hi Ruchika. So sorry to hear about your allergy and cough. I had ice drink recently and woke up with a sore throat too. Of course your case is different but if doc has precribed some medication, it must be safe for the baby. Take small dosage of it, I'm sure it will help a speedy recovery.

I am so sorry to hear that your sore throat is still there. Hope you are not eating too much refrigerated stuff, drink hot water.
