Hi again,

Well, today is a bad day as I am feeling quite sad and depressed. Dont know what the reason for the sadness is-is it the fact that my vacation in over or the overwhelming feeling that I am not being able to be a good mom. R's bad sleeping habits is killing me totally. He hardly sleeps even 10 hrs in a full 24 hr period whereas babies this age should sleep 13-15 hrs a day. I dont know but I blame myself for it-surely I must be doing something wrong. Moreover now he doesnt sleep on his own at all. We have to pat him or hold him for a long time before he sleeps. And he wakes up as soon as we put him down. And then the cycle starts again. Its like January. He never sleeps before 12 and wakes up at 6AM after getting up twice during this 6 hr period. Then he takes power naps during the day from 20 mins to 30 mins. Once in the morn he sleeps for 1.15 mins and thats all. He has become very whiny and cranky too. Always used to be a happy baby (except his sleep and feeding which I have always complained about) but now he has changed. He cried the whole evening yesterday and both of us were at a complete loss as to why he was doing so. His excema is bad too.
He has been on BM totally. I keep reading about how and what you all are doing with solids for your babies. I had always maintained that only BM is good for the first 6 months, but now am feeling that maybe I should have started earlier as all of you have started long time back. I feel like a stupid and incompetent mom. His doc also stessed on BM so I thought I was doing OK. But now I feel like a loser. Why I am feeling this way I cant understand...
I dont even know if I am doing OK with his development etc ie am I getting him the right toys etc which are crucial to his development.

Don't worry. R has company in my son, Kaaustaaub. Even while I type this, he is sleeping on my shoulder. I have come to accept it that he is different, and nothing can be done abt it. All we need is enough energy and mental strength to be patient and to manage them. And also hope and faith that they will become manageable sometime, hopefully soon.

Reg eczema, my doc had recommened Dermatop with 1% hydrocortizone for the body and Monistat with 1% hydrocortizone for the diaper area. It worked fine. And I do apply them whenever the patches recur. These are strong doses though and need to be perscriped, so ask your doctor abt these.

Reg solids, I started cereal only last mnth when the doc felt I was depriving my son of solids. (He was already 6mnths then) I started with rice and dhal yday after a gyan session abt proteins and haemoglobin. So it is never late to catch up.

I guess that it is just that we as first time moms are ambitious and want to do everthing right the first time.

Sometimes things dont go our way, wht to do? Last time tune tho mujhe hasaya tha when i was depressed, abhi tujhe kya ho gaya?
I know fir se routine kaam karna padega , so u r depressed.I think its NO SLEEP Season for these kids.Sid bhi aisa hi kar raha hai yaar.Raath ko ut tha rehtha hai.But he takes good naps in the morning n afternoon and thats when i work...I am sure once his Excema gets better he will play better and sleep well too..Sid also used to get irritated becos of his excema.Try to get an appt with a Skin specialist for R.My Dr has asked to see a specialist if sid's E doesnot get better..Talk to ur Dr dear and sab tik ho jayega..
U know, i wanted to feed only BM for Sid until 6 months but it was not sufficient for him,Things do not go our way sometimes, and with these unpredictable kids, i may add It NEVER goes our way..
