Congrats on ur twin girls. How do u know its identical, mine were in 2 different sacs, so doc told its 2 eggs fertilised and its like 2 different pregnancies but simultaneously. So I think mine is Fraternal. I am in NJ how about u.

Hi,
No,I haven't gone yet, but I am scheduled for May 16th. Also, I don't think you need to get amnio done unless you are over 35. It's kinds risky to get it done.
I am not gonna go for it for sure. My doc told me it was mostly for women over 35.

Mine are also in two diff sacs but they share the placenta so my doc says that they are identical. Do you have diff placentas?

In my u/s at 13 weeks he told they look very fine. and he never told me they share the placenta, will confirm again. If AFP turn out to be positive then they do the amnio to confirm that baby is not downsyndrome, I also dont want to have it done. Hope my AFP turns negative.

Hi Pinky!

Yes, my doc told me at my 12 week U/S that they share placenta. Don't worry too much. You will also come to know soon. Just take good care of ur health. No, i didn't have amino done. why do u need to have that done? They did AFP and it came out to be normal so there was no need for amino.

Ritu,
I dont know abt my placenta yet. I too heard that if they share the same placenta then its identical if its in 2 sacs also. How did u know that they share the placenta. can they find in U/S itself. Also did u have the AFP or Amnio test done. I am yet to go for it.

Hi Pinky,
I am also possibly having twins and I have two different sacs. This means we are having fraternal twins. In this case, there are 50-50% of chances of having male and female sexes. Most likely, they are two different sex babies. This is what I know for sure so far.
Hopefully, this is true. But, we will just have to wait and see.

Did u go for another u/s to confirm it.
Yes if its 2 sacs its fraternal and any of the three combination in sexes b/b g/g or b/g is possible. It has more chances of b/g
