Due Date Club October 2003:what we want & what we need??

I am posting for the first time but have been following this site for quite sometime now. Thanks everybody for all the information that you all have been sharing, this site certainly is a great one for the new would be moms and in particular the first timers who're away from home.

I am expecting my first baby in Mid october, the EDD is 18th October. I live in Dallas, Texas. Wonder if any of you are from this area.

The reason I am writing today is just to find out from all of you if all the baby stuff written in this forum is something we really need for the baby or is it just something that we mothers living in this great country want to have it? I know there are certain things we can do away with but lets discuss on issues such as first aid for the infant, I haven't had the opportunity to attend the CPR classes but would love to hear from the ones who've attended. Thanks everybody and lets keep the October Baby flag flying...

Frankly I believe u are the only one who can decide what u really need versus what u would like to have for baby stuff.Different people has different opinion and everyone has given good suggestions of what they feel we should have which I feel is very useful for first time moms.

But in case u disagree with that u are always free to make ur own decisions and there is no hard and fast rule that u HAVE TO HAVE those things.
And I also haven't taken any CPR classes
but incase you want to know more the internet is always a vast resource of information which u can update ur knowledge.

Hi Nick,
I agree with you when you say we are the ones who ought to decide on the stuff we need for the baby and have I denied that anywhere. But yes there are certain things that are of utmost importance and those are the stuff I was talking about and CPR being one. Of course internet resource is always there but someone from the forum who has personally attended the class might have better idea is all i said.
