Name: Anish's mom

My 5 months old son is exclusively bottle fed. Since last 2 weeks he has got into a habit of sucking his fists and fingers very hard. Sometimes, his knuckles trun red due to this.
Someone advised me to apply some bitter foods on his hands while some other person said he must be teething. Do not know why he does it and how to stop him. Help!!

hi,
your baby must be hungry or thirsty. try giving him some water to drink.at one stage my little one to had a habit of sucking his thumb, but got over it. when you are around him ,try diverting his mind. hold his hands and keeping talking to him or a story too might do.
i hope this may be of some help , as i used to do the same.

hello jayashree
dont get afraid and dont loose hopes, your son is absolutely fine, and give him the proper tuition and avoid more playing periods of his, and you should teach him at home when you will get free time.... - praglabh [View Message]
