Due Date Club October 2001:Walking...walking...walking!!!

Hi friends,

Walking is what everyone is advising me to do? With one toddler at home and working full time ...Its kinda difficult...Have any of u started walking as yet ?

And i've read about this lightening feeling when the baby turns around in the head down position...
? Have any of u felt it yet ...and at which week?

And just for info girls...The day before..I had just one helping of Sweet Potato during tea time...and ended up with severe stomach pain for 3 hours....No prizes for guessing what caused it ....I just walked around hoping the pain would subside...any other ideas on how to cope with such aches & pains in teh future????

Keep writing friends
Love
nivedita aka Nivea.

Tums is a tablet which controls stomach acid production and relieve your heartburn. Tums is also the calcium supplement recommended by most doctors.
If you would like to know more about tums check on this address www dot tums dot com.

Nivea, Have your mom got visa already? My mom will go to consulate next month. She will join us from Nagpur in october too.

Take care of yourself

Exercising during pregnacy can certainly do you a lot of good like relieve backache, prevent constipation etc. I have been exercising before pregnacy so i continue doing it until now. But its never too late to start exercising. I read that walking, stationary cycling is safer during pregnacy. Nowadays being in the third trimester i am always exhausted and i find that there is gradual decrease in my efficency so i like to sit at home but my dh encourages me to walk up to 2 miles per day.

I haven't felt the lightening yet. My stomach sometimes get sour but not heartburn and i rely on tums. Tums really helping me a lot eventhough i don't like the taste of it.

Take care and keep in touch.

I was working up until Feb of this year and kept a very active schedule but after which they put me on bed rest and though I am fit as a fiddle now, I am scared of over doing so I do go for walks but two or three times in a week for 1/2 hour. So I can say I am not very active person as of now !
Potatos, sweet or other wise can trigger off gas problems, if you are having itching then stop brinjal as well(moms tips !)Eat fruits and drink tons of water they help.
Take care and have a good weekend

Hi nivea,
Walking becomes quite a predicament.I was working fulltime the last pregnancy but tried to get in some exercise by climbing steps instead of a lift. When are you going to take off from work.Walking is a great toner and best for us pregnant women.
LIghtening usually occurs around now--meaning the 30th week onwards.I feel easing in my heartburn and really feel the baby will pop out any time.
take care and stay in touch

Hi jyotsna, mekha, Padmaja,

Thanks for the tips... I know--its pretty late--but nevertheless--I must begin to plan walking ASAP now.

And well Jyotsna, working in the gulf we are not priviledged to have 3 months maternity leave as in India--hence I plan to work till the very last week. So that I will have more time with the baby afterwards !My Mom will be joining me from Pune in October. So things will be easier when shes here.

Padmaja.,,,so far there has been no itching etc...but that tummy ache actually gave me the scare of my life !! So no more sweet potatoes for me now !!

And mekha...forgive my ignorance....but what are Tums dear !!

And yes friends... My instructor said that we ought to drink at least 2 litres of water a day...It prevents constipation and also decreases chances of any infections which in turn causes difficulties during labour !! Hah !! That was a long sentence !!!

So thats all for now folks

U all take care
