Re VBAC--i am no ordinary VBAC case.I have had a classic incision the last time so am taking a risk at trying for a normal labor.Padmaja-you are right in how someone not so close to you can really help with an objective viewpoint. If it were not for my husband and my determination,i would not go through it.Everyone else i know(incl 2 pals of mine who are having an elective) thinks im nuts.
Luckily i have a doc who is willing to give me the time,no induction or breaking of bags etc.All she wants me to do is to remain active till the last moment and keep the weight down to enable me try for a normal.
I go for my GTT on Tuesday--am sure it will be okay.
Mekha,i usually wake up at 5.45am each morning for my daughter,so i have a very early start even if im tired.I take a break or lie down by 10.30 but there are times when i feel terribly sleepy as if sedated. Its common. But it gets to you when u r in the 9th month when one doesnt feel like getting up.Thats the time they say when you should not get too lazy depsite the bigness and clumsiness.Ive been sufferig the last few evenings with nausea and lack of appetite-digestion related.Im eating a lot of fruits these days so that helps.
Surprisingly this time round,my hunger pangs are limited..

Mekha replied. How are you? Nothing new here. I am going tomorrow for the next session of lamaze. Nowadays i experience headache once in a while and also feel heaviness.
Its like time is going very slow.Do you sleep in the morning? I always want to lay down but i don't get sleep that soon especially at night.
Best wishes for the GD test. Don't worry you will come out of it. Take care and keep in touch.
Padmaja replied. I can well imagine how people must be reacting to you when you are talking about VBAC. But trust me on this, you are right in your thinking. You obviously want a normal birth not an operation. I think you are being absolutely great in thinking this way. So don't feel low.
I know it sounds too offhandish since I don't know you personally but most of the times more than family and friends it is a total stranger who can understand with us. I have been there.
In USA it's pretty common to think of VBAC, I also hear that doctors encourage moms on this. But in India c-Section is so damn common that it is surprising. I know of cases who go for C-section even with out any complications back home.I am not trying to throw any alligations on our doctors back home but proper guidance is lacking.Birth is a natural process not a medical procedure, so you are right on track. So cheer up buddy
As far as childbirth classes go, I am not sure how much any one can actually benifit from them, okay you do pick up tips and meet more apprehensive moms but I expected these classes to totally erase my fear of pain, I know I kind of sound foolish but that is what I expected ! I have two more classes to attend, next class she will be talking about pain-medication. Will let you know if I find anything useful.
So its ananya's vacation time, she must be enjoying her time with you then. I understand that they talk about pushing techniques in these classes so try to make it for your class even in Sep.
This is it for now. If you need to talk I am here to hear to you!!! Baby kicks to you!
jyotsna replied. hi padmaja,
Im okay but feeling pretty low.I have a gut feel that my VBAC chances are slim.Ive actually bought a book online through amazon, reading about vbac.My doc is okay about me trying for a vbac but she cannot commit or assure me with any guarantees. Moreover here in India, most women i know opt for an elective caesarian and dont understand why im making such a big deal out of it.I feel strongly that this time i want a birth and not a surgery.Well,im trying to follow my own advice--dump it all on God and just flow with whatever happens.
Havent gone for any more classes yet as ananya has got a school break currently. Will schedule for september.
The back ache tips sound very good, shall make a note of what you have written.
take care and stay in touch
makes a difference.
Padmaja replied. I have been checking for any new messages though not posting any. So your GD test is scheduled. I am sure you will come out of it peacefully. Take care and keep us posted.
I am doing okay with the usual pains and aches. Have been to my child birth class, where she talked about easing back pain during contractions and showed us some vedios on breathing and car seat safety. I found back ache tips pretty helpful.Your partner holding with left hand your hip and pressing just above the tail of the spinal cord and moving in circular motion, he can also use coke can to roll on your back.
Anyways, how are your classes coming through? How are you holding the fort? How is ananya doing?

It's a GIRL !!!!!!
Hi all,
I delivered a beautiful baby girl on 23rd November
at around 2 a.m. She weighed at 8lb 13oz & is 21\"; tall. It was a normal delivery, the mom & the baby are doing fine. We named her \";Shreya\";.
My mom and myself decided to put our creative skills and mind to work (optimum use of my maternity leave!) and have come up with these beautiful Quilts-cum-Comforters for Babies and Kids as well as for Adults. I am just spreading the good word around – some kind-av-marketing, you can say! I urge you to check out this stuff on ‘www.indiapare... - Irene Kurdikar [View Message]
our prayers are with you
Dear Jyotsna,
