Hi,

Hope all of you are doing fine enjoying the baby movements.
I hv been getting some pain in my pelvic/cervix area, its not very bad. But I do feel some kind of pressure in that area. I had this kind of pain for last days, but it was not persistent. After a good night sleep, i was Ok, but after movements in the morning the pain seems to e back.I am worried, as I read it could be sign of preterm labour too. My doc is out of station till Monday. Pls advice me, is it wise to wait till Monday ?? Is this kind of pain normal??

Pls do reply,
Perky

Hi Perky,

Even I had severe pain in the pelvic region, more on the left side. I used to sometimes feel some kind of weight shifting down whenevr I used to get up from bed or walk after sitting for long time at work. Turning sides while sleeping was so difficult that I literally cried.
In my case, I had terrible nausea until the end of my fourth month. I used to throw up even cocunut water or plain water which I had. So I think it was due to such throwing up act that my pelvic muscles became weak. Also when I asked my doctor, he said that I had calcium deficiency.

Thanks preeti for the suggestion on doing the exercises. I shall check them and start practicing.

Perky, if you feel lying down helps you, give some rest to your body. Or do some activity that you enjoy and divert your attention...Hope you would feel better in sometime..

Hi Perky,

I am from January board. I too have pelvic pain. I feel this pain everytime i sit in the car, walk after i wake up. It is not a sign of preterm labour. It' s called pelvic symphysis. You need to do pelvic floor exercise. It helped me alot. It will get worse as your pregnancy progresses if you ignore it. Google search it and you will get everything in detail.

Hope this helps

Hi Perky,

I didnot experience that in my first pregnancy or now but I don' t think thats a sign of preterm or anything. It might be just streching. As you are first time mom, the pain will be a little more.
My advice would be \" Listen to your body\" . If it helps when you lie down, do that. If you are still worried, give call to your nurse (insurence company usually supports talking to their nurses) and ask her if you need to worry or see another doc.
Don' t think much about it. Try to divert yourself by listening to music or watching your favourite movie/show etc.
Hope you feel better.
