I have a 13 months son & I have been trying to wean him off my breast unsuccessfully for the past 2 months.Iam facing 2 problems:
1He needs to take to my breast if he is feeling sleepy. If i am not around then he is able to sleep on a swing i have but on seeing me he howls badly demanding the breast feed.also he sleeps for a longer time 2 hrswhen on the swing compared to when i put him to sleep20 min. to 40 min.
2HE gets up three or four times at night and sleeps only when i give him my feed. How can i stop this bad habit bcos it is spoiling mine as well as his sleep.Iguess that is one reason he is not gaining weight properly

May be you can make him eat hisdinner well so that he'll notget up very frequently at ight

Well, it is not easy to wean away children from the breast, but it is not even difficult. Therefore, you have to just feed him enough while he is awake. And then be away for some time. It will take some time for him to digest the new routine.

I know this habit will carry on even if the baby grows upto 2/3 yts. This is certainly embarrasing in public. So u have to be strict/stubborn. Some old women used to put something that tastes bitter/sour on the breast nipple so ur baby dislikes drinking breast milk. Try this slowly that is once/twice a day. Also give him glass of milk when u are having tea/coffee or before going to sleep. This may work if u are persistent.

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
