Due Date Club July 2005: Q – about ear piercing

Hi All

This is Suchie from Aug group.

My daughter has completed 5 months, and I want to get her ears pierced. In Wal-Mart they told me that they will pierce ears with gun and I have to buy earrings (studs) from them itself (my mom has got cute earrings for her, but they wont pierce with our earrings). Also they need all the shots to be completed before ear piercing, where as in Mall they did not ask anything about shots.

Does anyone of you have their babies ears pierced?
If yes, was it painless? What is the reason they want shots to be completed prior to piercing? Please let me know your or if you anybody’s experience.

Thanks in advance,
Suchie.

hi suchie,

as per customs, we got it done on 28th day of birth.

this was done by paed in hospital with gunshot. yes may be painful as my daughter cried for atleast 15mins...better to pierce with those eear studs.. later after 6weeks they can be replaced.

Regards,
skg

Hi,
I got my daughter's ears pierced in the third month itself by a doctor. I live in Bangalore, India. It was not all that painful I suppose. Only while piercing cried as she was scared of something being done. But doc. had given her a mild local anesthesia. once we were out of the clinic she had forgotten all about it. She was busy watching the road and smiling.
I did it that early as my mom told once they grow up they start pulling their ears and it may hurt more.

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
