Due Date Club October 2003:Thanks Everyone! It's a Bday I wont forget! Update

Thanks to everyone who remembered my birthday. This is a birthday I'm not going to forget in a hurry. On monday night I couldn't feel the movements from 1 twin and so on tuesday (2nd) went to see my doc. He was also worried as this is a serious problem, and so he scanned me thoroughly. From the scan I could make out the twins were both moving, but just to be on the safe side he also asked me to to a CTG. This is a fetal heartbeat monitor and I was strapped on for more than an hour on that machine. While I was on the machine, I was experiences lots of contractions. Some of the contractions were really painful. I can imagine how actual labor will be. Actually I guess I wont be experiencing labor as my doc wants me to have an elective c-section. This is because he suspects a twin-to-twin transfusion and so with an elective c-section, he can ensure that there are 2 peds and neonatal specialists around when the babies are born. This will ensure that both babies are taken well care of right from the begining.

The good thing is that my mom will be here on sat morning, so I'll be pampered then. I'm also planning to take atleast a week's bed rest when she comes. Lemme see if this week's bed rest turns into my maternity leave. Guess will have to leave it to the doc.

Hi Sandhya,

Sounds like you had a scare last weekend, but I am so happy to hear that the twins are doing fine....and with your mom coming this weekend you will have lots of pampering.
Did the doctors give you a possible date for the elective c-section? Do take lots of care and keep all of us posted on your well-being....
