All,

Any thoughts on announcing your baby's arrival to family and friends?

Some go for a printed card with baby's picture & details and send it. I believe, Costco does some good ones.

Hey Vindhya, I like the idea of sending cards myself.. but I never received any from any of my friends and family who live here or in India...so I wonder how prevalant the practice is... May be they just didn't want to send me one.. :)

Vindhya, I did look at invitations for christenings that served as baby birth announcements too..
So, it would be good option if we were to have some kind of a ceremony for the baby..
but I dont think I will.. so yeah, like you said e-mail and phone would be a better option for someone like me..

That's what I thought, I don't think many Indians do it. One of my cousin had done it two years ago. I guess, e-mail and phone are the best options nowadays. Anyway, where will we have time do all this.
