Due Date Club July 2005:Layas 5mnth Update

Hi Friends,

How are you and ur little ones...?? how did ur new year start....??

Its been a month since I actively participated.. Was busy with Laya and relatives here at MILs place..Jus settling down... Took time today to post abt Laya 5 mnth update.

Laya has been doing good so far... and is 5 months old now...And she is a little princess here.. And so many kids to give company to her and everyone keeps taking her that she is hardly on floor.

After we reached India it took nearly 2 weeks for laya to settle down..she had jet lag.

Each one calls her with different pet names and she recognises who calls her... and In evening when her granpa returns from work she gives a big smile..When she is with grand ma and grandpa she pulls down their specs.. and also she pulls grandpas and her uncles moustache.. she has strted to tear paper and put it in mouth.
And she grasps whatever is within her reach.. Yday took her to kitchen and she strted to take plates and tumblers and put them down..And during the first few days of her India stay she was scared of cooker whistle that she cried so loudly as if someone has beat her.. now its better..she has got used to it.. she doesnt likes loud noises..and is nt comfortable with it.
she likes to put everything in mouth first.. she rolls around both ways. and always wanna stand play.. she has strted sitting with support..that is with hands in front.

SHe is still breastfed..i hvent introduced any other food to her so far.. her paed in US told to strt solids if necessary( she was asking me to breastfeed fully till 6 monhts) after consulting with paed here in India..but the paed here also told not to introduce any new foods till 6months. and her growth was also good..and she is a healthy baby...so till now she has been exclusively breastfed and am proud of this...

And she got her first cold after the new year day.. she did suffer a little.. thank god that her cold subsided in 2 days... even i had to take care of myslef for her cold to reduce...

And her sleeps...its the same story here..active thru the day and half an hr naps in between and finally goes to sleep somedays around 9 and wakes by 8 in the morning and somedays around 11.30-12 and wakes up in morning around 9.30-10...

And she likes to be outside, enjoys the fresh air cool breeze and looking at plants and trees and birds.. she will be quite during the whole time... in evenings i dont take her out as there are mosquitoes..

And she cries only when she is hungry or when she feels sleepy rest of time she is good n happy baby...

Thats it for now...she is in her 6th month and am happy watching her grow well...

Bye for now...

My hugs and kisses to ur little sweetie pies

ANitha

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
