Some women have a lot of hormonal problems during their pregnancy and even after the delivery due to imbalance of hormones they are not able to produce enough milk for their babies or sometimes no milk at all which causes problems to the baby.

Lactation takes place because of some hormones that are produced by a women's body after delivery. In some females the hormones are not enough to produce enough milk for the baby to be satisfied and this leads to many problems.

Dear Munna, I am a donor myself, I am donating my breast milk after my child stopped feeding only on my milk, on an average a woman can lactate up to 2 years is she continue pumping on regular basis.

Dear Madhu, first of all I am really sorry for replying late and yes the freshly pumped milk can be stored for more than 6 months in a deep freeze, that is - 20 degrees, and upto 3-4 months below 0 to -20 degrees in the milk banks, so it is completely safe. We too store our milk in our refrigerators at home. So it is completely okay and nice to donate in a milk bank as they are highly equipped with deep freezers and preservation technology.

wow it is a good cause you are working for. impressed. there are lot of mother who needs breastmilk and don't get it so they have feed packed out side milk and it can be harmful for babies. but tell women where they can donate this milk so everybody can do it.
