Hello all..
I am just starting my 8th week of pregnancy.My doctor has prescribed susten 200/progestrone capsules to be taken vaginally.I have had a missed miscarriage before this in 2009..I am extremely worried about this medicine..Is it safe to take?What will be its effect on the baby?Is there anyone here who has delivered healthy babies after taking this medicine?Please answer soon....

During pregnancy women must be very careful and even though many are having miscarriages after all these.

I do request all women please do not miscarriage the baby because it is being hard for couple to have baby and they are suffering a lot also.

Progesterone is not so good for health and even it would not cause any harm to baby also.But it would be avoid using pills regarding that.

Hi Kr,
Progesterone does not cause any harm but you should not prefer that because some medicines would not work properly for us in time.But do take some other tablets which are not heavy dosaged.

According to my concern progesterone capsules will effect to our health literally if it is taken in high quantity so it would be better try to consult to the doctor and then take medicine.

Hhello Person,
How can you take the tablets what ever the doctor suggest you and you can ask for what that tablets are giving and you can verify with the chemist then only your problem will be solved also.So it would be better you would do that.

If you have only had one miscarriage in the past then I am surprised that you have been given this medication. I am a nurse in the uk and personally I dont believe enough research has been carried out with this drug and there are too many side effects and there seems to be too much of a dependance on drugs, we do not do that here, I had 2 miscarriages before I fell pregnant again and I was 37 years old. I miscarried in 2006 and 2007 and fell pregnant 2008, when I had given up. You need to let your body rest and not get too caught up in being pregnant the more you rest and calm yourself then it will happen, but please check the internet yourself for this medication. IN PREGNANCY IT IS RECOMMENDED NO MEDICATION IS TAKEN UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY AND ONE MISCARRIAGE DOES NOT SUGGEST ABSOLUTE NECESSITY, YOU HAVE TO LET YOUR BODY TRY BY ITSELF
