Kids & Food:Home made remedy for general health

Hi, I was wondering if any of you are giving any home made remedies for cold, cough, general health etc. My kid is 12 months and goes to a childcare. She falls sick very often. I was thinking if there is something I can help build her immune system.

Thanks.

take some pepper, cuminseeds, turmeric powder, tulsi leaves, cloves-1,cardamom-1, dried ginger-small piece. Add 1 cup of water with these and boil it till it get lesser than 1/4 of it. Add brown sugar or honey with it . REgular usage of turmeric powder , cloves, cardamom will increase the immunity system. Amla, is rich in vitamin C. can make juice with ginger, amla, lemon and honey and even we can take this to protect ourselves from this cold cough . Take some warm water and add salt and ask the child to gurgle it .
